Inter Milan Transfers: 8 Big Names Linked to the San Siro in January

Inter Milan had a very difficult start to their season, which saw them drop to the bottom half of the table.

However, since the appointment of Claudio Ranieri, they have managed to recover from their early slump and have made steady progress. They are still not a very dominant team like they used to be under Jose Mourinho, but their confidence is clearly returning due to their good results and Ranieri should be credited for doing a good job under great pressure.

It will be extremely difficult for Inter Milan to even salvage a top-three finish, considering the fact that there are several good teams in the league and it could be an intriguing battle till the end of the season if Inter Milan can continue their good form.

Though Inter Milan are a decent team, Ranieri could look to make some quality additions to help them have a strong finish to the season and also for improve the quality of the team in the long term.

They have been linked with a number of players, and here are eight big name players who have been linked with a January move to the San Siro.

Florent Malouda

Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Chelsea’s out-of-favor midfielder Florent Malouda, who could leave in the January transfer window.

Though the Frenchman remains a quality player, he has not had much playing time as a starter for Chelsea mainly due to the arrival of Juan Mata, who has proven to be a brilliant player at the highest level.

Though Inter Milan will look to add quality youngsters to revitalize the team, experienced signings will also help the team and Malouda can be obtained at a bargain price, considering his age and the fact that he is not a regular for Chelsea.

It was not long back that Malouda was consistently scoring and assisting goals under Carlo Ancelotti, and it is possible that he could recapture his best form in a different environment.

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard is one of the most talented young players in the world, and it is not a surprise that he has attracted interest from plenty of top European clubs around the world.

He will not come on a cheap transfer, but the money paid to acquire his signing could be worth it because of the quality of the player. Hazard is a player who has the ability to be hugely influential, and can be a player who can turn around things for Inter Milan. 

Arsenal have also been linked with the Belgian midfielder, but Inter Milan would do well to beat the competition from the Gunners and other clubs to sign him. Inter Milan do need to add quality players in the January transfer window in order to give them a good chance of finishing in the top three, which is why signing Hazard should be one of their priorities.

Milos Krasic

Milos Krasic is one of the most talented midfielders in the Serie A, but he has struggled to make an impact for Juventus since the appointment of Antonio Conte as the manager of club.

Conte has helped the team progress this season, and they have a genuine chance of winning the Serie A title, but Krasic has not been a major player for them this season, which has led to him being linked with an exit from the club. 

There have been a number of clubs which have been linked with him, including Chelsea and Inter Milan, and he could make a move in January.

He is a quality player and will certainly add more depth to Inter Milan. He still remains an excellent player, and if he plays regularly, he can certainly get back to his best form—which is why Inter and other clubs are interested in the Serbian international.

Carlos Tevez

Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez has been one of the more controversial figures in world football, but he remains a quality striker, which is why there are clubs interested in the Argentina international.

Tevez has the ability to score goals and make a difference to the team, and his commitment on the pitch cannot be questioned. With Inter Milan in need of a quality striker, Tevez could be targeted by the Italian club.

However, they will face severe competition from other clubs as well, especially AC Milan, and Manchester City will not need to sell him at a cheaper price.

Tevez could be an excellent addition to the team, but it would be difficult to persuade the Argentine striker to come to Inter after their poor start to their campaign. Inter Milan will nevertheless hope that the presence of many Argentinian players could also play its part in persuading him to join Inter.

Ezequiel Lavezzi

Napoli have shown that they have great quality in their team and are one of the best teams in the Serie A. One of their most important players is Ezequiel Lavezzi, who has shown that he is very talented and has the quality to play at the highest level.

Inter Milan will be very keen to add quality players to their team for the short-term aim of achieving Champions League qualification, as well as improving the team in the long run. 

Lavezzi is a player who can make a huge difference to the Inter Milan side, but it would be difficult to persuade Napoli to sell, considering that they are also in the Champions League and would want to retain their best players at the club.

However, according to Tribalfootball.com, Lavezzi’s agent is not surprised by the interest of Inter Milan in the forward because of the player’s quality:

Inter Milan have also been linked with a move for Sao Paulo’s exciting, young attacking midfielder Lucas Moura, who has performed superbly for his club

in the recent past. Lucas has shown that he is very talented and will certainly attract the attentions of several clubs around the world. If Wesley Sneijder does move in this year, then the signing of young Lucas Moura will make even more sense because he has the talent to be a huge success in the future.

It will not be easy to sign Lucas, considering that Sao Paulo will not sell him at a bargain price and they would also have to beat the competition from some other clubs to sign the Brazilian international.

However, if they can manage to sign Lucas, then it could be an excellent deal for Inter, considering that he could be an integral player to the team in the future. 

Hulk

FC Porto have a number of excellent players in their players, and Brazilian striker Hulk is one of the most important players to them on the team.

Hulk has been very consistent in the recent past, and has contributed a lot to the team in terms of goals and assists. Also, he has good technical ability on the ball and great physicality as well, which can help him adjust to a different league.

Hulk will certainly not come at a cheap price, but if it is possible that he is available at a reasonably fair price, it could be a good deal for the club. According to Talksport, there are many clubs interested in the forward, including the likes of Inter Milan, Arsenal and Chelsea, according to his agent:

It is not certain whether or not Hulk will move, but if Inter do sign him, it could turn out to be an excellent move, especially if he can reproduce his best form in Milan.

Josip Ilicic

Inter Milan could possibly make a move for Palermo’s young, creative midfielder Josip Ilicic, who has been excellent for the club since joining in 2010.

Inter Milan could look to add some young promising talent to their ageing squad, and Ilicic is a player who will fit the bill for the club. He will undoubtedly add more creativity to the squad and can be important to the club.

The move for the midfielder in the January transfer window would make further sense if Wesley Sneijder was to move away from the club in the January window. Ilicic is quite young and will not take much time to adapt to Inter, considering that he has been playing in the Serie A for more than a year.

Inter Milan will have to beat the competition from some other clubs as well to seal his signing, but it could be an astute move by the Italian giants in the long term.
