Yankees' Top Prospects, Farm System Progress Report, Draft Targets
The New York Yankees have looked like the team to beat in the American League over the first two months of the season, and the performance of rookie Luis Gil has been a major boon to the starting rotation while Gerrit Cole has been sidelined.
While Gil has exhausted his prospect status, there is plenty more high-upside young talent rising the ranks in the minor leagues.
Outfielders Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones are the headliners in the system, but there are also some intriguing names raising their profile in the lower levels of the minors.
Let's take a closer look at the Yankees Top 10 prospect list, a general overview of their farm system and who might be on their radar when they are on the clock in the 2024 draft.

Farm System Progress Report
2 of 3
The Yankees checked in No. 7 in Bleacher Report's first farm system rankings of the year, which were released on April 16.
Top Hitter: Outfielder Jasson Dominguez was sidelined to start the year while working his way back from Tommy John surgery, but he started a rehab assignment on May 14 and is hitting .315/.383/.556 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 15 games since returning to action.
Top Pitcher: With Drew Thorpe sent packing in the Juan Soto deal, right-hander Chase Hampton started the season as the consensus top pitching prospect in the Yankees system. However, he is dealing with a UCL sprain and has not yet made his 2024 debut.
Breakout Prospect: After an 18-homer, 69-RBI season across three minor league levels in 2023, Agustin Ramirez is hitting .263/.364/.537 with 10 doubles, 12 home runs and 35 RBI in 46 games at Double-A. The 22-year-old was called a potential "generational player" by his hitting coach Kevin Martir recently, further fueling the growing hype surrounding the young catcher.
Potential Draft Targets
3 of 3
The Yankees have the No. 26 overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft, which gets underway on July 14 during MLB All-Star weekend.
Here's a look at some recent mock draft projections:
MLB.com Mock Draft (5/31): SHP Jurrangelo Cjintje, Mississippi State
Cjintje will be one of the most talked about players leading up to this year's draft due to his unique switch-pitching ability, but he is far more than just a novelty. An 18th-round pick in the 2022 draft out of high school who is now a draft-eligible sophomore, he has a 3.67 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 113 strikeouts in 90.2 innings this spring. Most scouts prefer him right-handed, but he could give throwing both ways a legit try in pro ball.
Baseball America Mock Draft (5/31): 3B Billy Amick, Tennessee
After hitting .413 with 13 home runs and 63 RBI as a sophomore at Clemson, Amick has continued to impress while moving to the SEC after transferring to Tennessee. He is hitting .310/.394/.667 with 21 home runs and 60 RBI this spring, and he has played himself comfortably into the first-round conversation as a result.
