Cowboys' Dak Prescott Hypes Mavs, Stars Success: 'Put More F--king Pressure On Us'
Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex teams have enjoyed incredible success over the past year. The Texas Rangers won the most recent World Series, and the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars are in the NBA and NHL Western Conference Finals, respectively.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has taken note and told reporters that he's rooting for those teams while also noting that it puts more pressure on his own squad.

The Cowboys are coming off an NFC East title and their third straight 12-win season. However, Dallas hasn't made the NFC Championship Game since 1995, and last year ended disastrously with a 48-32 loss to the No. 7 seed Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card round.
The Cowboys have a ton of pressure to deal with every year given their status as the NFL's most popular team, but now three local pro teams are experiencing great success and deep playoff runs. Dallas, for all its recent regular season success, hasn't fared well in the playoffs in three decades.
The pressure will only be ratcheted up in 2024, with both head coach Mike McCarthy and Prescott essentially entering lame-duck years. McCarthy is in the final season of a five-year contract. And barring a long-term extension, Prescott is entering the final year of his contract.
Dallas has the talent to win a Super Bowl, with linebacker Micah Parsons and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb leading the way. But the Cowboys also just had a relatively quiet offseason with few additions to the team. It'll be incumbent on the team's stars to lead the way in hopes of finally breaking a three-decade hex short of the NFC Championship Game.
