Cooper Kupp: Rams Keeping Aaron Donald's Locker Open if DT Interested in NFL Return

Scott PolacekMay 21, 2024

Cooper Kupp said the Los Angeles Rams are keeping an open mind about a potential Aaron Donald comeback.

And an open locker at that.

Kupp told Bridget Condon of NFL Network on Tuesday that the team is keeping Donald's locker open and available "if he ever wants to come back." The wide receiver also said he will continue making such "backhanded comments in the media" since Donald would be "more than welcome" in the clubhouse if he did return.

Donald retired this offseason, but it comes as no surprise Kupp and others with the Rams would love him back.

After all, he is one of the best defensive players in NFL history with a resume that includes a Super Bowl title, three Defensive Player of the Year awards, a Defensive Rookie of the Year, 10 Pro Bowl selections and eight First-Team All-Pro nods.

He was still effective last season as a Pro Bowler and First-Team All-Pro with eight sacks.

Perhaps Donald, who turns 33 years old Thursday, will start to get the itch to return when games are closer. If he does, the Rams will surely welcome him back with open arms.
