Rams' Kyren Williams Out for OTAs with Foot Injury, Expected Back by Training Camp

The Los Angeles Rams will be without a key starter on offense during OTAs.

Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Tuesday that running back Kyren Williams is dealing with a "foot issue" that will keep him sidelined for the team's offseason program this spring. McVay added that Williams is expected to be back on the field for training camp in the summer.

A fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft, Williams is coming off a stellar sophomore season in the NFL in which he earned his first career Pro Bowl selection as well as second-team All-Pro honors. Despite being limited to 12 games due to a sprained ankle suffered in Week 6, he posted career highs across the board with 228 carries for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 206 receiving yards and three more scores.

As ESPN's Field Yates noted, Williams' absence from OTAs means that rookie running back Blake Corum will be in for a substantial workload with the starters. The Rams selected Corum with a third-round pick in the 2024 draft after he starred at Michigan for the last four years, recording over 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons and leading the Wolverines to the 2023 national championship. He was named the offensive MVP of the title game.

The Rams are coming off a 10-7 finish to the 2023 season and a trip to the playoffs, where they lost to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Wild Card Round in a 24-23 nailbiter.

If Williams can stay healthy during the 2024 campaign, Los Angeles will have a better chance to compete for a division title and make a deeper run in the postseason.
