UFC's Conor McGregor Blasts Leon Edwards and 'Another F--king Decision Guy' Belal
Conor McGregor isn't a fan of fighters who take things to the cards.
The UFC star blasted Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad during a recent live stream, calling them out for their fights going to decision.
"There's too many decisions going on now with that Leon fella," McGregor said during the stream. "Leon Edwards loves a decision. And then he's fighting another f--king decision guy, your man Belal, so not great times in the welterweight title picture. (UFC 304 will do 200,000 pay-per-view) buys, probably … not even: 150,000 buys."
Edwards is slated to fight Muhammad in the main event of the UFC 304 pay-per-view on July 27. The reigning UFC welterweight champion has taken 14 of his 26 career fights to the scorecards. Muhammad has gone to the cards in 19 of his 27 career bouts.
McGregor, by contrast, has gone to the scorecards just twice in his 28-fight career.
While both Edwards and Muhammad are more successful than McGregor from a win-loss perspective, it's fair to say fans have flocked to the Irishman's bouts in droves—in large part due their exciting nature.
MMA purists may appreciate the five-round precision of Edwards, but there is no doubt that knockouts and submissions bring in the more casual fans in droves.
Each of McGregor's last eight fights have drawn in one million or more pay-per-view buys. His boxing match against Floyd Mayweather also drew in five million combined PPV purchases.
