Anthony Edwards Praised as 'Unguardable' By Michael Malone Before Wolves-Nuggets G7
Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone offered quite a comment about Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.
Ahead of the Denver's Game 7 matchup against Edwards and the Timberwolves, Malone said that Edwards has "proven to be unguardable."
Edwards has averaged 29.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists during the series.
Edwards excellence is not exclusive to this series against the Nuggets. He averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists during the regular season, helping lead Minnesota to the third seed in the Western Conference.
He then dominated in the team's first round sweep over the Phoenix Suns, which was Minnesota's first series victory since 2004, and now the Timberwolves have the defending champions on the brink of elimination.
Still, taking down the Nuggets will not be an easy task. Minnesota appeared poised to take the series after winning the Games 1 and 2 on the road, but Denver quickly stormed back and won the next three. Minnesota then avoided elimination in Game 6, but Denver's playoff experience will surely be a boost in the winner-take-all Game 7.
Edwards will hope his strong play will be able to account for his team's lack of experience in Game 7, which is set to tip-off Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
