Alex Sarr NBA Combine 2024: Measurements, Analysis and Impressions

Potential No. 1 pick Alex Sarr impressed scouts with his size and athleticism this week at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine.

Sarr measured in at 224.2 pounds and 6'11.75" without shoes Wednesday.

He also registered a wingspan of 7'4.25" and a standing reach of 9'2".

The former NBL star reached 30.5" on the standing vertical leap, and 37.0" on his max vertical leap.

He finished the lane agility test in 11.43 seconds and the shuttle run in 3.23 seconds while clocking in at 3.27 seconds on the three-quarter sprint.

After one season with the Overtime Elite, Sarr joined the Perth Wildcats in 2023 to spend his first pro season with the NBL in Australia.

Sarr averaged 9.4 points, 0.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds while playing 17.3 minutes per night through 27 games.

He also established himself as one of the top defenders in the NBL by recording 1.5 blocks and 0.5 steals per contest.

Jonathan Wasserman projects the Atlanta Hawks selecting Sarr with the No. 1 pick in his latest 2024 NBA Mock Draft for Bleacher Report.

Wasserman previously scouted Sarr as a comparable player to Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr.

"The obvious draw to Sarr revolves around his rim protection, defensive switchability and potential to stretch from the floor from the 4 or 5 positions," Wasserman wrote. "He's going to serve as a roaming shot-blocker who can guard and shoot around the perimeter.

"Even if Sarr isn't creating effective or making shots, he should find ways to impact games around the basket at both ends, just like Jackson."

By recording one of the combine's longest wingspans and standing reaches, Sarr is proving he has the reach to succeed as a stretch big in the NBA.
