Ex-Iowa star Kate Martin waived by WNBA team
This is the most anticipated Fever season in a long time.
The franchise's season already looked bright on the basis of last year. Its 13 wins tied for its most since 2016. Aliyah Boston was an All-Star as a rookie and averaged 14.5 points on 57.8 percent shooting along with 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. NaLyssa Smith took another step forward in her development, putting up 15.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest.
The arrival of Caitlin Clark is what sent the excitement into overdrive. Clark left Iowa as the all-time leading scorer in Division I history and has the potential to be a transcendent talent.
Indiana has been stuck in the mud ever since Tamika Catchings' retirement after the 2016 season. Building around a nucleus of Boston and Clark, it's hard not to think the team could be a perennial title contender within the next three or four years.
Rolling out a fresh home court provides another small sign that this is a different era for Fever basketball.
