NBA Rumors: OG Anunoby Set to Miss Knicks vs. Pacers Game 4 with Hamstring Injury

Jack MurrayMay 10, 2024

The New York Knicks will be without a key contributor in Games 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday on NBA Countdown that Knicks forward OG Anunoby's absence is expected to extend to Game 4 of the team's series against the Indiana Pacers and that New York is prepared for an even lengthier absence.

"The expectation, I'm told, is that OG Anunoby will also be out for Game 4 on Sunday, and this is a Knicks team that has to prepare for the possibility that he may be out longer than that with that left hamstring injury," Wojnarowski said.

Anunoby left Game 2 early after planting his leg to make a layup. He hobbled to the locker room following the play, and the injury was later diagnosed as a hamstring strain.

This comes as a tough break for New York as Anunoby had been executing at a very high level. He scored 28 points in Game 2 prior to his exit and had been averaging 46 minutes in the previous four games.

More importantly, he is another name on the increasingly lengthy Knicks injury list. The team is already down Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle and Bojan Bogdanović, and star Jalen Brunson was questionable heading into Game 3, although he will suit up.

New York currently holds a 2-0 lead over Indiana, but the Pacers will have a shot to even the series at home against the short-handed Knicks. The Pacers will hope to start that journey in Game 3, which tips off Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
