Randy Orton: WWE Announces the Viper's Return Date

For those of you who have been clamoring to find out when you will see "The Viper" return, wait no more.

WWE is advertising Randy Orton for the January 16 WWE Raw Supershow in Anaheim, California. He is also advertised for the Smackdown taping the next night in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Orton is advertised for the January 22 live event in College Station, Texas and additional live events and television tapings beyond that point, including the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in his hometown of St. Louis.

Personally, I am a bit surprised they are bringing him back so soon. Especially, with Royal Rumble just around the corner.

For many years, this has been the logical choice for most WWE returns. However, for the most part it has also been a virtual guarantee that the returning star wins the rumble and main-events WrestleMania.

So maybe this is WWE's way of letting fans know that Orton will not be challenging for the strap at WrestleMania. Which leads me to wonder: Who they will pick to face Daniel Bryan at "The Grandaddy of Them All"?

In the end, it will be good to see Orton back in the ring. Especially since he was involved in such a big story-line ended prematurely by his injury.
