Video: Raiders' Davante Adams Hypes 'F--king Baller' Jordan Love After Packers Season
Current Las Vegas Raiders and former Green Bay Packers superstar wide receiver Davante Adams gave Packers quarterback Jordan Love his flowers this week.
During an appearance on his teammate Maxx Crosby's The Rush with Maxx Crosby podcast (beginning at the 4:15 mark), Adams heaped praise on Love following his performance in his first season as an NFL starting quarterback in 2023:

Adams made it clear that while he is still happy with his decision to facilitate a trade from Green Bay to Las Vegas prior to the 2022 season, there is a part of him that wishes he could have the chance to play with Love as members of the Raiders (h/t Garrett Podell of CBS Sports):
"At the time when I was there [in Green Bay], I hadn't seen enough [of Love], to say for sure, 'This is what I should do [stay with the Packers].' In hindsight, like we talked about, the kid [Love] is a f---ing baller, man. I'm so happy for him.
"I haven't had the chance to truly sit down and talk with him, but I want to tell him at some point, 'I definitely don't regret changing [teams], but I'm super proud of what you've done. If there was a way I could pull you over here and drag you with me that would have been cool too because we saw what he did at the end of the year. I don't regret what I did [demand a trade to the Raiders], but at the same time, you look back on it like, 'Damn that boy kind of balling right now.'"
After sitting and learning behind future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers for three years in Green Bay, Love rose to the occasion after being given the starting job last season, leading the Packers to a 9-8 record and a playoff berth.
Love also helped the Packers upset the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round of the playoffs, and he put up big numbers during the regular season, completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Adams spent his first eight NFL seasons in Green Bay and developed into Rodgers' favorite target during that time, earning five consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2017 to 2021, plus First Team All-Pro nods in both 2020 and 2021.
While Adams more than earned a contract extension to make him one of the NFL's highest-paid wideouts, he didn't get it from the Packers, as they dealt him to the Raiders instead.
The trade reunited Adams with his former Fresno State teammate in quarterback Derek Carr, and they had a great connection in 2022, as Adams was named a Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro again by virtue of catching 100 passes for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Despite that, the Raiders released Carr at the conclusion of the 2022 season and signed veteran Jimmy Garoppolo in free agency.
Jimmy G didn't last long as the Raiders' starter, getting replaced by rookie fourth-round pick Aidan O'Connell during the 2023 campaign. The Raiders' quarterback turmoil impacted Adams, as he finished with 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns, representing his worst production since 2019.
It is fair to wonder what kind of numbers Adams could have put up with Love as his quarterback last season, but it is difficult to envision them having the opportunity to play together now.
Love only signed a one-year contract extension before last season, so he can become a free agent after the 2024 campaign, but if he comes anywhere close to replicating what he did in 2023, the Packers certainly won't let the 25-year-old signal-caller go elsewhere.
As for Adams, his quarterback situation remains in question, as the Raiders seem poised to let O'Connell and journeyman veteran Gardner Minshew battle it out for the starting job in 2024.
