Bucks' Injuries Lamented By NBA Fans as Pacers Win Game 4 With Giannis, Lillard Out

Andrew PetersApr 28, 2024

The injury-riddled Milwaukee Bucks are down 3-1 to the Indiana Pacers after dropping Game 4 126-113.

The Bucks were without star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has missed the entire series with a calf strain, and Damian Lillard, who was ruled out for Game 4 after aggravating an Achilles tendon injury on Friday.

To make things worse, Bobby Portis was ejected in the first quarter after a scuffle with Andrew Nembhard.

Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez did their best to keep Milwaukee in the game, with Middleton putting up 25 points and Lopez adding 27, but the Pacers' shooting was too much for the Bucks. Indiana finished the game hitting 22 three-pointers at an outstanding 51.2 percent clip.

After the loss, fans lamented the Bucks' injury luck:

The Bucks are an NBA Finals-caliber team when fully healthy, but it's hard to imagine they can overcome a 3-1 deficit if Antetokounmpo and Lillard can't return to the floor.

Before Sunday's game, head coach Doc Rivers said the team is "optimistic" Antetokounmpo can return in the series and they aren't shutting down Lillard, but their returns are likely dependent on Milwaukee surviving another game.

The Bucks and Pacers will face off in Game 5 on Tuesday in a game that could end Milwaukee's season in the first round for a second consecutive season.
