Video: Dolphins' Armstead Talks Not Wearing Sleeves for Infamously-Cold Chiefs Game
It doesn't matter how cold it gets, Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead is never wearing long sleeves during a football game again.
"I wore sleeves one game in my NFL career, and I gave up a sack," he told TMZ Sports on Sunday (5:30 mark) when discussing his team's Jan. 13 playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in which the temperature was infamously freezing. "So, you'll never see me in sleeves again."

He said it felt like "negative 99" degrees outside and explained he felt that way even though he is no stranger to cold weather and snow being from Illinois. Still, he felt like this game "was a historic day, in the wrong way."
Ben Morse of CNN noted the temperature was negative-four degrees Fahrenheit with a wind chill of negative-20 degrees at kickoff, which meant it was the fourth-coldest game in league history.
The Kansas City Fire Department said it helped 69 people with conditions such as hypothermia and frostbite symptoms.
Ultimately, Kansas City emerged with a 26-7 victory with Patrick Mahomes throwing for 262 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Travis Kelce mixed in seven catches for 71 yards, while the Miami offense never generated much momentum behind Tua Tagovailoa and Co.
The Chiefs parlayed the momentum from that win into playoff victories over the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens before defeating the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. It was their second straight Lombardi Trophy and third in the last five years.
As for Armstead and the rest of the Dolphins, they will look to close the gap on Kansas City during the 2024 campaign and would surely love home-field advantage for their next playoff matchup.
Because then it wouldn't be so cold.
