NFL Exec Predicts 'Wild' QB Picks in 2024 Draft amid Daniels, Maye, McCarthy Rumors
Everything will hinge on the Washington Commanders on April 25.
The Chicago Bears are expected to take USC's Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, but even league executives can't predict which signal-caller the Commanders select with the No. 2 pick.
"The QB draft is going to be wild," one team executive told The Athletic's Jeff Howe.

North Carolina's Drake Maye, LSU's Jayden Daniels and Michigan's J.J. McCarthy are expected to still be available when the Commanders get on the clock.
Whichever quarterback the Commanders draft will determine who the New England Patriots have left to select from at No. 3.
According to a poll conducted by The Athletic of seven NFL executives, coaches and scouts, opinions were split on who the Commanders would select with the No. 3 pick, Howe reported.
Three of those surveyed guessed Daniels, while two said Maye and one selected McCarthy, according to Howe.
NFL insiders have remained in similar disagreement on where the Commanders are trending with the pick.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said Thursday on the Adam Schefter Podcast (h/t NESN's Adam London) that he believes "signs continue to point to Jayden Daniels being the second overall pick."
ESPN's Matt Miller, meanwhile, reported Friday that to dismiss the possibility of the Commanders drafting McCarthy "would be foolish based on league-wide intel surrounding the quarterbacks."
"Enough sources around the NFL are whispering that McCarthy could very well be the second quarterback off the board that it has to be considered possible at this point," Miller said.
The Commanders have also been gathering intel on Maye, having met with the UNC quarterback before his Pro Day in Chapel Hill.
Maye was also complimentary of Commanders leadership after meeting them at the NFL Scouting Combine, saying that he "clicked right off the bat" with Washington head coach Dan Quinn, per David Harrison of WNCT 9.
The B/R NFL Scouting Department ranked Maye first and "most pro-ready" among quarterbacks on its 2024 Big Board, followed by Williams, Daniels and McCarthy.
Whether or not the Commanders agree is still up for debate, which means first-year general manager Adam Peters has so far succeeded in keeping his team's draft plans under wraps.
