Video: The Rock Calls Out Cody Rhodes, Rollins in Song Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 40
A war of words broke out into song Friday as the Rock delivered an original number that called out his WrestleMania XL opponents, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
With musicians playing the guitar and harmonica ringside and the fans rhythmically clapping along, The Rock's dulcet tones waxed poetic on a variety of topics, such as laying the smackdown and using a fanny pack on Rhodes and Rollins.
It was an appropriate turn of events for this feud, as Friday's SmackDown took place in Memphis, home to a long and rich musical history.
It's also home to Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant, whose past was referenced in the song. Morant had a response to The Rock's remarks.
Ultimately, the Rock's song grabbed headlines for one evening, but it's a chapter in an ongoing story that will end at WrestleMania, which takes place on April 6 and 7 in Philadelphia.
The Rock and Roman Reigns will face Rhodes and Rollins in a tag team match on Night 1 before Reigns defends his Universal title against Rhodes the following evening.
