WWE 2K24: Top Gameplay Videos and Comments from WWE Superstars

WWE 2K24 hit consoles Tuesday with the early digital release of the Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania Editions, allowing eager fans to play with their favorite Superstars, legends, and icons in updated match types and game modes.

This year's cover stars include "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes (Standard Edition), Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair (Deluxe), and the greatest Superstars in WWE history in celebration of the ruby anniversary of Wrestlemania (40 Years).

On being chosen to cover this year's game, Rhodes told B/R's Mike Chiari:

"I put it up there as the highest of highs in terms of its significance. 2K is just an unbelievable organization and to be in the same conversation as a Kobe Bryant, as a John Cena, as Rhea [Ripley] and Bianca [Belair] as 2K cover athletes, it's hard to have a bad day when something like that is put in front of you. I know we've worked hard and I can pat myself on the back all day long, but the reality is I just feel very lucky."

He continued, discussing the significance of Ripley and Belair's historic cover, the first to feature two women in the game's history:

"I think representation is so important, and you couldn't have found two better ladies, women's stars and just general stars in our industry than Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. For me, it would be the same as if a John Cena was on the cover. They've done the work. They truly are—if you come to these live events or Raw, SmackDown, all the PLEs—the response that people have to a Rhea Ripley, the response that people have to a Bianca, there's a real connection."

WWE Superstar Austin "Xavier Woods" Creed and Tyler Breeze hosted a live playthrough Monday on the Up Up Down Down YouTube channel, with special guests Jey Uso, Johnny Gargano, and R-Truth, among others.

The playthrough provided fans a look at several different matches, modes, and characters gamers will have the opportunity to play through and with.

The biggest addition to this year's release is the 2K Showcase of the Immortals feature, which allows gamers to relive 21 of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history.

The mode includes the epic encounter between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant from 1987 in front of 93,173 fans in the historic Pontiac Silverdome, the surreal Firefly Funhouse Match between John Cena and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, and last year's marquee bout pitting Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

The Ambulance Match is one of four new match types for fans to play in this year's release, with the goal being to beat your opponent so badly that they are incapacitated and can be thrown into the back of the namesake vehicle and driven out of the arena.

The MyRISE mode returns this year, with two brand new storylines, one for the men's division and one for the women's. With twists and turns, and obstacles for gamers to overcome, it will likely be among the fan-favorite modes in this year's release.

WWE 2K24 is available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and PC. The Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania editions are available digitally now while the physical releases of those, as well as all formats of the Standard Edition, will be released in stores on Friday.
