WWE 2K24: Newest Additions to Universe Mode, MyGM and More Ahead of Release Date
WWE 2K24 hits shelves this coming week and fans will be presented with a game that includes several new additions, upgrades to favorite modes, and new features that will, hopefully, improve upon the success of last year's presentation.
What are those features and how will they impact existing modes that built fan equity as part of the WWE 2K23 release a year ago?
Find out with this preview of this year's hotly anticipated game.
Release Dates
March 5: Early digital release for Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania Editions
March 8: Standard Edition and all physical copies
MyGM Mode
MyGM is one such mode to feature new upgrades, expanding what fans can do as they assume the role of general manager and produce shows while competing against their fellow GM(s) for pro wrestling supremacy.
This year, showrunners will have the opportunity to trade WWE Superstars between them, better manage contracts, and benefit from the inclusion of talent scouts.
All three of those elements help make for a more realistic setup and give players an even more in-depth opportunity to experience what it feels like to run a roster of world-class athletes.
The new Superstar Journey feature in the MyGM mode allows Superstars to earn XP and extra benefits by competing in matches.
Universe Mode
The Universe mode allows fans to develop feuds and mold a WWE that is unlike anything the pro wrestling world has ever seen before.
This year's game expands on the existing mode, expanding the rivalry actions, delivering new cut scenes, and introducing double-title matches.
While further details are rather scarce, the official WWE 2K24 website does promise enhancements, hopefully meaning upgrades to a feature that was already a fan favorite.
2K Showcase of the Immortals Mode
As WWE prepares to celebrate the ruby anniversary of WrestleMania, 2K presents the Showcase of the Immortals feature, allowing fans to relive some of the greatest matches from 40 years of WrestleMania.
Not only will fans have the opportunity to recreate iconic matches, such as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. The Rock from WrestleMania X-Seven and Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker from WrestleMania 25, but they will also have the chance to unlock Superstars, attires, event arenas, and championships along the way.
There are 21 matches in all, spanning different eras and generations of WWE history.
From "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat in 1987 to 2023 and the showdown between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, the mode has something for fans of all ages to sink their teeth into.
