Woj: Clippers' Paul George Will Return from Knee Injury 'Soon' amid NBA Playoff Race

Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George "will be back soon," according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

George is experiencing left knee soreness that caused him to miss Los Angeles' 123-107 loss to the Sacramento Kings, and he'll miss Wednesday's matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wojnarowski reported the nine-time All-Star's knee is "feeling better each day."

Clippers fans might be conditioned to expect the worst when it comes to player injuries. An NBA title has proved elusive for the franchise after adding George and Kawhi Leonard, and injuries to the pair have played a big role in that.

This is another example of Los Angeles continually encountering bad luck just when the stars seem to be aligning.

The Clippers are 37-19 and fourth in the Western Conference, three games back of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder for the top seed. After going through a rough stretch immediately after the James Harden trade, the team started firing on all cylinders.

But now L.A. has alternated wins and losses over its last eight games and watched one of its best players go down.

The good news obviously is that George's knee issue doesn't appear to be too serious. Maybe he'll be healthy enough to suit up Friday against the Washington Wizards or Sunday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
