B/R Wrestling Staff Predictions for WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 Match Card

We are firmly on The Road to WrestleMania 40, but before we get to the biggest show of the year, the men and women of WWE are making a stop at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

The yearly event is headlined by two matches inside the titular chamber. Here is a look at the card for the PPV in Perth, Australia.

Who would you book to win if you were in charge?

Lynch. With Ripley awaiting her WrestleMania challenger, WWE should be putting the biggest names together to make up for the loss of CM Punk and the changes with Cody Rhodes, The Rock and Roman Reigns. Lynch standing toe-to-toe with Ripley is the match with the most mainstream notoriety and would be worthy of the main event spot on Night 1 of WrestleMania.

Balor and Priest vs. Dunne and Bate

What role do you see R-Truth playing in the outcome of this match?

The Judgment Day has run its course, and the stable should be looking to break up sooner rather than later. R-Truth should be the catalyst for that change by accidentally costing Balor and Priest the tag team titles. Dunne and Bate have been red hot and have ample possible challengers in the division, so setting up Balor vs. Priest via a loss is perfect WrestleMania booking.

Is it the right time for Judgment Day to drop the tag titles?

No. The payoff to months of storytelling is R-Truth and The Miz ultimately dethroning them at WrestleMania. Bate and Dunne probably should not be losing at this point, but there's no satisfying ending to the story without Truth getting over on Judgment Day. Most notably, Priest.

If Logan Paul wasn't in this match, who would make the most sense to replace him?

Paul actually makes a ton of sense given his desire to get his WrestleMania win back against Rollins. With that said, AJ Styles would make the most sense given his star power. It also would have been nice to see Grayson Waller get a chance to shine in an actual match. Either one of those two would be suitable.

Ripley vs. Jax

If you were assigning betting odds, what chance would you give Jax of winning the title?

Jax is arguably around +1900 as far as her chances of walking out of Elimination Chamber as champion are concerned, or in other words, slim to none. She's the perfect opponent for Ripley in her home country, but there is no scenario where Jax wins the title on this show. Ripley is WWE's hottest female star right now and should be the defending champ at WrestleMania.

What order would you book eliminations and an eventual win?

It's a stacked match, so realistically, almost any one of them could be eliminated first. They'll likely want to protect Rodriguez, who just returned on Raw, so Naomi could be the first to go followed by Rodriguez. Belair and Stratton should both last a while, and Stratton eliminating Belair can set up a 'Mania match between them. Lynch then eliminates Stratton given their history from NXT followed by Morgan to win the whole thing.

If your ideal scenario, who are the final two competitors and who gets the win?

Becky and Bianca. With their extensively shared history, it will make for a really dope storyline. Both The Man and the EST have teased Ripley matches over the course of the Eradicator's reign. I think fans would love to see either Superstar face her. Both matches would classify as Mania-level main events. And with those two in the final, it leaves a high level of unpredictability because you can realistically see either winning the match.

Taking storylines out of it, who would you be happiest to see win this match?

Mcintyre. I've loved his tweener/heel work over the past few months. His motivations make complete logical sense and he will achieve his goals by any means. Plus, as the guy who carried the Thunderdome era, I'd love to see him get a Mania main event to replace the one that COVID lockdown took away from him

McIntyre seems to be the favorite. If he was not going to win, who is the next-best pick?

Orton has been hot with the crowd since he came back. A match between The Viper and The Visionary would fit right in at WrestleMania, especially if Orton turns heel heading into the match. Other than him, Knight, Owens and Lashley are tied with Paul coming in last.

Ripley vs. Jax

Offer an argument for why WWE could book Jax to win this match.

As much as I would hate seeing Ripley lose in her own country this close to Mania, I could also see WWE wanting to add a woman to The Bloodline. Ava Raine is too green in NXT, so Jax is the best option. Having her as a dominant powerhouse alongside her family would certainly raise her profile. But again, it should not be how this match ends.
