LeBron James Injury: Heat Star Questionable for Thursday After Ankle Sprain
After hurting his ankle in Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat star LeBron James could be forced to miss some time.
Tweeted Brian Windhorst of ESPN on Wednesday:
""LeBron has been diagnosed with left ankle sprain. Could be an issue tomorrow in Atlanta especially following flight."
"
James was able to finish Wednesday's game against the Pacers, but any tweak like this is concerning, especially considering the way James attacks the basket every night.
The Heat have already been dealing with Dwyane Wade's foot injury, which kept him out of the game on Wednesday. In a shortened season like this, there's a greater risk of injury because of more back-to-back games.
Wade reiterated the same before Wednesday's game.
Said Wade, via The Miami Herald:
""I think the back-to-back the other day kind of hurt me and made it real sore. Probably as sore as it’s been, so at this moment it’s about taking time and being smart and seeing how my foot is going to feel.”
"
The Heat have been off to a fast 6-1 start this season behind the play of James and Wade. James has averaged 29.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks. Wade has averaged 18.8 points, 6.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks.
The play of the two and the overall play of the team has many thinking the Heat will win the title this season.
But one thing's for sure: the Heat need to be careful with James and Wade, their top two players.
