Stephen Curry Injury: Warriors Star Guard Suffers Injury Setback
Stephen Curry has been playing on a bum ankle that threatened to derail a dangerous backcourt. The other shoe may have fallen as Curry has injured himself once again.
CSNBayArea.com reporter Matt Steinmetz reported via this tweet that Curry was on his way to the locker room as his teammates battled the San Antonio Spurs.
The following tweet will no doubt strike fear in the heart of every Warriors fan.
The fact is something like this has been expected since the start of the season. A franchise that is used to worst-case scenarios devolving into reality assumed something bad would happen to re-tweak the ankle.
As far as the gravity or how the injury happened, Steinmetz reports on his Twitter feed that Curry will not return to this game.
His tweet here reports Curry simply pushed off on the ankle to go up court when he came up lame. A lingering injury has no doubt been exacerbated to a level that Curry cannot play with.
Curry left the game shooting 7-for-11 from the field with eight assists and 20 points. This has been a rough start as Curry sprained his thumb on New Year's Eve against the 76ers as well.
The ankle injury was lingering coming into the season and was no doubt going to be an issue. How big that issue will be now that it has been re-injured remains to be seen. The team has not yet stated the nature of the injury and tests are assumed to be the next step.
