Bucks' Damian Lillard Says He'll Defend NBA 3-Point Contest Title Next Year

Damian Lillard has his eyes on a third consecutive NBA three-point contest victory.

Lillard won the 2024 contest over Malik Beasley, Lauri Markkanen, Donovan Mitchell, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson and Trae Young with 26 points, which was his second straight victory in the event.

It appears he isn't satisfied with just two, however, as NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that he's "open" to defending his crown again next season.

The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Lillard notably is a native of Oakland, so it could be a nice opportunity for him to reach the accomplishment in front of his hometown.

It was Lillard's fifth time competing in the event, and he was the first repeat winner since Jason Kapono in 2007-08. Peja Stojakovic, Jeff Hornacek, Mark Price and Craig Hodges also have won two consecutive three-point contests, while Larry Bird is the only person to three-peat in the contest.

This was Lillard's first All-Star weekend since being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason. He is averaging 24.6 points, 6.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 51 games and has helped the Bucks get out to a 35-21 record to start the season.

He will make his debut for the Eastern Conference team in this year's All-Star Game, which is set to tip-off Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
