Puig has been known for his fiery personality since he was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2013 through 2018. When he was on the Cincinnati Reds in 2019, he was suspended three games for his role in a fight between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Reds.
The former All-Star hasn't appeared in an MLB game since the 2019 season ended, although he's been attempting a comeback by showing off his prowess at the plate with Tiburones de La Guaira. In 26 games with the team, he's hitting .418 with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs while making 110 plate appearances.
In his seven years in the majors, Puig recorded 132 homers while knocking in 415 runs. He owned a career batting average of .277 with a respectable .823 OPS. MLB teams have reportedly expressed interest in his services prior to the 2024 season, per MLB reporter Francys Romero.
Prospective front offices likely aren't thrilled to see him involved in another fight, though.
