Rams' Raheem Morris Interviews for Commanders HC Job After Playoff Loss to Lions
Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is interviewing for the Washington Commanders' head coaching job, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to Schefter, the Commanders interviewed Morris on Thursday. The interview comes after the Rams' wild-card loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Morris has served as Los Angeles' defensive coordinator since 2021. He has been in a coaching role in the NFL since 2002, serving as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011. He was also a member of Washington's coaching staff from 2012 to 2014 as a defensive backs coach.

The Commanders fired Ron Rivera in January following the conclusion of a 4-13 season. In Rivera's four seasons as head coach, he led the team to the playoffs just one time in 2020 and didn't secure a winning record once.
Washington has reached the postseason just twice in the last decade, and the Commanders are hoping to find someone to help them return to their glory days.
The Commanders have already landed a new general manager, hiring Adam Peters earlier this week as they continue the search for a new head coach. Peters previously served as assistant general manager for the San Francisco 49ers.
Now, Washington is looking to land its next head coach, and Morris could be a solid option. He has winning experience, being a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams, and he'll be looking to bring that success to Washington if hired.
