Why Rex Ryan Needs to Be Fired for Letting "Selfish" Jets Locker Room Run Wild
Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are still dealing with the fallout from their brutal 8-8 season that saw them drop from Super Bowl contender to out of the playoffs. And, judging by the information that is coming out about the team's season, Rex Ryan's job shouldn't be as secure as it seems to be.
From reports that surfaced yesterday and again today, the Jets' locker room was an absolute mess. Receiver Santonio Holmes was a constant problem that essentially amounted to poison after he questioned the offensive line midseason, clashed with quarterback Mark Sanchez in a meeting last week and almost got into a fight with tackle Wayne Hunter in the huddle during Sunday's game at Miami.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Holmes was clearly a problem, but today rookie quarterback Greg McElroy claimed there was a "corrupt mindset" in the locker room and that the team was full of "extremely selfish individuals." According to McElroy, who missed the entire season with a broken thumb, the problem went a lot farther than Holmes.
The blame for a very talented team imploding on itself thanks to a complete lack of chemistry should fall squarely on the shoulders of the head coach. I really don't get why it is taboo to suggest that Ryan's job should at least be considered to be in jeopardy.
He openly admitted yesterday that he didn't have the pulse of his own team. Despite his constant boasting about how good the Jets are/were, Ryan's team fell completely flat. He has not delivered on his numerous Super Bowl promises, and has consistently burned bridges across the NFL with his mouth.
I understand that some people really like Ryan's style, but it hasn't been successful to this point and now he appears to have lost his locker room. Those are two huge black marks against him.
