Bears vs. Vikings: Updated Odds, Money Line, Spread, Props to Watch for MNF

Joe TanseyNov 27, 2023

The Minnesota Vikings reside in a must-win bounce-back spot on Monday night against the Chicago Bears.

Minnesota needs a home win to solidify its standing in the NFC North and wild-card races before its Week 13 bye.

The Vikings lost a tight game to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night in Week 11. The last thing they need is to go on a two-game losing streak before a week off.

Chicago also has a bye week in its future, but it carries different motivations into Monday's game inside M&T Bank Stadium.

The Bears are just trying to get better with Justin Fields back on the gridiron. They looked competitive against the Detroit Lions last week and could challenge the Vikings.

Chicago's competitiveness last week, and in the Week 6 meeting with the Vikings, provides some hope for the over to hit in a game that may not carry a ton of buzz from a neutral perspective.

Monday Night Football odds from DraftKings.

Chicago at Minnesota (-3)

Minnesota is a slight favorite despite the gap between it and the Bears in the NFC North standings.

The Vikings already own a six-point win over the Bears this season, but that game featured far different circumstances than Monday's contest.

Minnesota had a healthy Kirk Cousins under center and Chicago finished the game with Tyson Bagent at quarterback.

The Vikings only produced 220 total yards at Solider Field, but since then, they eclipsed the 300-yard mark in every game.

Joshua Dobbs is now quarterbacking the Vikings, and while he may not be Cousins, he has done a fine job with the offense.

The Bears can't be trusted as such a small underdog because they proved last week they are not capable of putting together a full 60 minutes. Chicago faltered in the fourth quarter in a 31-26 defeat to the Lions.

Chicago's only win in the last four weeks came against the Carolina Panthers, a set of results that does not exactly inspire confidence from anyone betting the point spread.

Over/Under: 44

The first meeting between the NFC North rivals produced just 32 points.

Most people would assume a similar result will come from Monday night's matchup.

However, Chicago's poor defense over the last month could aid the total.

The Bears allowed over 30 points to the Lions, New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers in their last three defeats. The Chicago offense put up at least 13 points in the last four contests.

Minnesota eclipsed the 20-point threshold in every game since the Week 6 win over the Bears, and its yardage total has been over 300 in every game as well.

The Vikings' recent numbers suggest they will move the ball, and if they can convert some of those drives into touchdowns instead of field goals, the over will have a decent chance to hit as the game reaches the second half.

You may be hesitant to trust Dobbs or Fields as quarterbacks, but there is at least a path for the total to go over.

TJ Hockenson Over 62.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

D.J. Moore Over 4.5 Receptions (-125)

Alexander Mattison Over 1.5 Receptions (-150)

The player prop market could change depending on Justin Jefferson's status.

As of Monday morning, Jefferson is listed as questionable. He has not played in the last two games with that injury designation.

T.J. Hockenson's pass-catching production should not be affected by a potential Jefferson return.

The Vikings tight end is the No. 2 pass-catcher with Jefferson healthy and the No. 1 target for Dobbs without the superstar wide out on the field.

Hockenson had 50 yards on six catches in his first meeting with the Bears. He had over 60 receiving yards in four of the five games after that.

Dobbs should look at Hockenson on countless passing plays and you should add the over on his receptions prop once that becomes available on DraftKings.

D.J. Moore saw a production increase in Fields' return last week. He caught seven of his nine targets for 96 yards.

Moore should receive a heavy volume of passes from Fields once again, which should lead to the cashing of the over on his receptions prop.

Alexander Mattison could take advantage of a Bears weakness in the passing game. The Bears allow the most receiving yards and second-most catches to opposing running backs in the NFL.

Mattison can be used as a short-yardage outlet by Dobbs to get the best out of that mismatch.
