NBA Rumors: Timberwolves Dumb for Not Locking Up Kevin Love to Extension ASAP

It's been a long road back for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Finally, the Wolves have some legitimate young talent to build around, including rookies Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams.

All of the rebuilding becomes pointless, though, if the Timberwolvws don't lock up Kevin Love.

The fact that they've yet to offer Love a contract extension is dumbfounding. This is an easy one. A no-brainer. In fact, the Timberwolves are quite dumb for potentially even risking angering the double-double machine.

Why even allow a chance that Love could eventually sign elsewhere?

It looks as if they've at least got his attention.

Love has all but demanded to be extended by January 15th and the Timberwolves need to do so. As a matter of fact, they need to get this done as soon as today.

You have to think they are going to do the right thing here. They aren't going going to play games with Love.

Minnesota has finally assembled a cast of playoff pieces. Management couldn't possibly screw such an easy decision up, could they?

Don't hold your breath on that one.

At the end of the day, though, Love will get his extension and the Timberwolves can begin the road back to respectability.

They just look very dumb for not having him signed already.
