Eagles vs. Chiefs Picks, Lineup Tips for DraftKings Daily Fantasy for MNF

Joe TanseyNov 20, 2023

Monday night's Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs has the potential for a good amount of points.

DraftKings daily fantasy football players would love for Monday's game to live up to its expectations so that the biggest stars on each roster produce high stat totals.

Travis Kelce and A.J. Brown will be at the foundation of a majority of DFS lineups because of how often they touch the ball in their respective offenses.

The tough part about building Monday's DFS lineups is figuring out which members of the supporting cast will show up alongside Kelce and Brown.

The Eagles have a clear No. 2 to Brown in DeVonta Smith. A pairing of the two wide outs in a lineup makes the most sense for a Philadelphia stack because Dallas Goedert is still out injured.

Patrick Mahomes should spread the ball out more, which makes it harder for DFS players to find the right wide receiver to choose in a lineup.

Mahomes' ability to carve up the middle of the Philadelphia defense, which has been a weak spot, could at least lead you to choosing him over Jalen Hurts.

Use Travis Kelce, AJ Brown as Lineup Foundations

Kelce and Brown took center stage when the Chiefs beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Kelce caught all six of his targets for 81 yards and a score, while Brown had six receptions on eight targets for 96 yards and a touchdown.

The two pass-catching stars should have ample opportunities to torch the opposing defense on Monday.

Kelce is due for a big performance after he was held to 58 and 14 receiving yards against the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins.

Philadelphia is tied for the second highest concession of touchdowns to tight ends in the NFL this season with five.

Mahomes can hurt the Philadelphia defense with throws down the middle to his favorite target, whose two 100-yard performances this season came inside Arrowhead Stadium.

Brown had at least eight targets in all but one of his nine appearances this season.

Hurts will throw in his direction on every drive and that makes him a must-start in DFS lineups, even if his roster percentage will be one of the highest on Monday night.

Brown and Kelce carry the two highest non-quarterback salaries in DraftKings DFS contests, so if you want to add both players to your lineup, you will have to find one value play to add to the end of your roster.

Choose Patrick Mahomes over Jalen Hurts

Mahomes has the potential to do more damage through the air against the Eagles than Hurts does versus the Chiefs.

Philadelphia entered the weekend with the third-highest yardage concession to opposing wide receivers.

The Eagles were tied with the Washington Commanders at the start of Sunday's play for 14 passing touchdowns allowed to wide receivers.

Mahomes can pick apart the Eagles' secondary with Kelce and a few others to create the highest DFS point total from Monday's game.

The Kansas City quarterback does not have a rushing attack to support him, like Hurts has. The Chiefs have not run for over 100 yards as a team since Week 4 against the New York Jets. Philadelphia went over the 100-yard mark on five occasions and had 99 and 97 rushing yards in two other contests.

Mahomes carries the highest salary in DraftKings DFS contests, but he should be worth the high price.

Hurts should put up decent numbers of his own, but if you are looking at the best potential numbers, Mahomes has the edge because of Philadelphia's weakness defending the pass.

Value Plays Will Win Contests

Now to the hard part of Monday night's analysis.

The value plays from each roster will likely be the difference-makers in how high you finish, but which ones shine on Monday is hard to figure out, especially on the Kansas City side.

Mahomes completed a pass to nine different players two weeks ago in the win over the Miami Dolphins in Germany.

Mecole Hardman got reintegrated to the Kansas City offense during the bye week and he could be the primary target of DFS players looking for a bargain at his $2,800 salary.

Rashee Rice and Jerick McKinnon caught touchdowns against Miami, but neither player did much to pad the stat sheet around those scoring plays.

Justin Watson and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are Kansas City's deep-play threats, while Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney can be used on gimmick plays close to the line of scrimmage.

Rice and Watson were the only Kansas City wide outs to play more than 60 percent of the snaps two weeks ago, but that time could get cut into with Hardman back in the fold.

Philadelphia's depth offerings are easier to figure out. DeVonta Smith can be used as compliment to Brown and Hurts in a lineup stack, as could D'Andre Swift.

Kenneth Gainwell is the safest value play from the Eagles roster because he is used in third-down and red-zone situations.

Julio Jones, who scored against Washington three weeks ago, is worth a look at his $2,600 salary. The Eagles could look to get him more involved across the middle with Goedert still out.
