Falcons vs. Giants: Justin Tuck Will Back Up Trash Talk with Great Performance

Nicholas GossJun 7, 2018

New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck will back up his trash talk on Sunday and dominate the Atlanta Falcons offensive line, a unit he called "dirtbags" on Tuesday.

"

Most people, you would call them dirtbags. But it is what it is. We got to make sure we do our job, and if we are doing our job well then they will be upset and they will be trying to do things to get us off our game, and we got to take that as a compliment.

But in the same sense you got to protect yourself and hopefully the referees have 20-20 vision this week.

Tuck's trash talk has created even more buzz around this exciting playoff matchup. The Giants are a team no one wants to play right now, primarily because of Tuck and his teammates on the defensive line.

The Giants won their last two games to get into the playoffs against the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys, and made 11 sacks in those victories combined. Tuck had one sack in each of those wins.

If the Falcons want any chance o winning on Sunday, they have to protect quarterback Matt Ryan. Ryan has been poor in his playoff career and has yet to win in two postseason appearances.

Ryan has thrown two interceptions in each of his two career playoff games, and has not been able to take his game to another level when the stakes are high.

There's no reason to believe that Tuck won't have a spectacular game on Sunday. He's a very strong player who has enough speed and moves to get to the opposing team's quarterback.

On the road in a hostile environment, plus the added pressure of the playoffs, is not a good mix for the Falcons and Matt Ryan. The Falcons were just 4-4 on the road this season, and they faced two playoff teams in those eight games (Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints) and lost each time.

The Giants defense is playing great football right now and are really causing problems for opposing team's offensive lines. With defensive end Osi Umenyiora returning from injury in Week 17, New York has another quality pass rusher for the Falcons to block on Sunday.

Tuck and the Giants' defensive line will dominate the Falcons and make life miserable for Ryan. The Giants have the most feared pass rush in the playoffs, and have so many players who are capable of getting a sack on each play.

Tuck made a bold move by calling the Falcons offensive line "dirtbags," but he will back up that trash talk with a fine performance on Sunday.
