Arsenal Transfer News: Addition of Kieran Richardson Would Be a Worthless Move

The Arsenal Gunners are reportedly interested in Sunderland winger Kieran Richardson, but that move wouldn't really make sense for the club.

Richardson is known to be a unique player, but he doesn't really seem to be worth the cost for the Gunners. He provides a left-footed option, but sometimes his attitude and more importantly his consistency are constantly in question.

There is no doubt that he has talent, but one has to determine if he is really worth the entire package that he embodies.

If they do pull the trigger, they will have to hope that his addition will put them over the top and be able to catch up to teams like Manchester City and Manchester United.

From 2002-07, Richardson was apart of Manchester United. During that time, he was very inconsistent in finding a presence with the first team, a spot in which many would have labeled the young star to attain.

He was just never able to find his way onto the field, as he only made four appearances over his first three seasons. While he has found much more success with Sunderland over his career, there is no guarantee that he could provide any real additions to what Arsenal already has.

This season, he has appeared in 18 games, scoring twice. He has missed his last few games due to an illness, but his return should be soon.

When it comes down to it though, Richardson just doesn't seem to be a good fit. He has never really been able to provide what many teams have hoped to get from such a versatile player.

It seems like the Twitter world agrees.

According to this tweet, it seems as if Richardson's dad is looking to get him where he wants to be.

This one seems to play on that idea, as one would have to argue that Richardson is finding his way out of Sunderland and on his way to Arsenal.

This one pretty much sums up how useless this move would be for Arsenal.

This guy is at least seeing some positive to the situation, but he doesn't seem to be apart of the consensus that is going out there.

While it remains to be seen, this all may just turn out to be constant speculation that has been spread across the web, as things tend to do when Arsenal gets involved in looking at transfers.

While he may find some success with a move, all-in-all, this move just seems like a headache waiting to happen for Arsenal and their fans.

Nothing will be for sure until Arsenal actually decides to pull the trigger, but this appears to be the biggest topic following the club at the moment.
