WWE Rumors: The Rock, Rob Van Dam, SmackDown Spoilers & Wednesday's Top WWE News
When Chris Jericho made his return on Monday, WWE found a way to simultaneously bring hope to the product, and at the same time prove just how weak the roster is right now. He is going to be great, but he is also coming back to fill some major holes the company has.
But as long as we enjoy the ride and not focus on the negative, everything should be great. That should actually be WWE's slogan right now.
We will have the latest news and notes on all things WWE, including SmackDown spoilers from Little Rock. So keep reading and let us know your thoughts on all that you read.

THE ROCK HAS COME BACK...AT AN UNDISCLOSED TIME
While we all know that The Rock will return at WrestleMania, he is going to have to make some appearances on Raw prior to that show in order to properly hype his match with John Cena. The exact date is not known, but the vague report says that it will happen "in the next several weeks."
Question on Everybody's Mind: When might "the next several weeks" become official?
Our Take: It would not be a surprise to see him make an appearance in mid-February. The report says he has a movie coming out around that time, so the promotion machine will likely be out in full force.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Boots to Asses
Let's be honest: Without The Rock around, WWE is hard to watch. Some good things happen with CM Punk from time to time, but everything else is so stale that at least Rock brings an energy with him that elevates everyone else's performance.

ROB VAN DAM THINKS WWE IS COOL
Even though he has been wasting away in TNA for the last two years, it appears that Rob Van Dam is open to the idea of returning to the WWE so that he can be buried by Triple H a couple more times.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What does he have to offer?
Our Take: At this stage of the game, really nothing more than his name. RVD is not the same wrestler he once was. He is very stiff and struggles to do anything besides have an ECW-style match. He can be a mid-card depth worker, but nothing more than that.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Reasons To Bring WWECW Back
Van Dam may not be the performer that he used to be, but he would be good to have in order to get young stars like Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger and Wade Barrett over.

BRODUS CLAY HAS A RETURN DATE*
Just 24 hours after claiming that WWE lost Brodus Clay, I get to talk about the latest rumor that has him showing up at the Royal Rumble.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Why should we believe this one?
Our Take: In all honesty, you probably shouldn't. It would make sense to save him for the Rumble because WWE loves surprise entrants, but considering how ridiculous this whole situation is, you would probably be wise to not believe anything until he actually shows up.
Hype Meter: 2 out of 5 Monsters Being Held Down
Clay made one comment on Twitter, and he is kept off of television for two months as a result. Imagine what would happen if he had actually said something inflammatory about Vince or Stephanie McMahon.

WWE TEASES THE RETURN OF THE ANIMAL
Batista left WWE nearly two years ago and has really shown no interest in coming back to the company. In fact, he has bashed the PG direction for years. But that isn't stopping WWE Magazine from teasing a possible return.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Is there anything to this?
Our Take: Considering that the company has gotten a little edgier with its content lately, it would not be a surprise to see him make a one-off appearance at some point. If for nothing else, it will give him a chance to shake the ropes like the Ultimate Warrior used to.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Surprises That Make You Love WWE
It was great to see Batista's evolution—no pun intended—during his run in WWE. Unlike John Cena, he actually got better in the ring as his career moved along. Getting him back for one more match would be a nice treat for the fans.

DANIEL BRYAN'S HEEL TURN CONTINUES TO TAKE SHAPE
In his world title match with Big Show, Daniel Bryan keeps inching towards the dark side. He doesn't have enough in his arsenal to defeat Show, so he starts yelling at Mark Henry, who is standing outside, and gets disqualified.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Why is Bryan going to be a heel?
Our Take: I don't really know, especially if he is feuding with Big Show. There is no way that he is going to get over as a heel in WWE. He is barely getting over as a face right now, so imagine how bad things will get when he is trying to get heat.
Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Wastes of Talent
Bryan has been one of the most mismanaged stars on the WWE roster from the time that he arrived. Instead of giving him a chance to show what he is capable of, he gets buried by Michael Cole and wins matches in fluky ways.
