15 Best NFL Players at a Great Price

Zack PumerantzJun 7, 2018

Entrenched in a world of greed and selfishness, many athletes believe that money is the key to greatness.

Whether they're a first-round pick cashing in on draft day or a hungry free agent searching for that big check, financial well-being seems to define their careers.

Others, however, seem to be more concerned with their on-field production then they are with holding out for more dollar bills.

Here are 15 NFL players that can be had for a bargain.

Enjoy.

15. Fred Jackson, RB

1 of 15

After a slow start to his career, former undrafted running back Fred Jackson hovered around 1,000 yards the last three seasons.

However, before getting injured, he was atop the league in rushing and leading the hungry Buffalo Bills to a respectable record.

For $1.75 million per year, his heart will never be questioned.

14. Cameron Wake, LB

2 of 15

Considering he made $480,000 in 2011, the man who had 14 sacks last season and 8.5 this season is quite the bargain for any opportunistic owner.

With an iconic name, nose for the pigskin and undeniable loyalty to his team, Cameron Wake is the ultimate catch at outside linebacker.

13. Arian Foster, RB

3 of 15

During the past two seasons, all Arian Foster has done is rush for 1,616 and 1,224 respectively.

His $525,000 salary for this season is quite a bargain for any owner willing to put time and effort into the offensive line.

The Texans halfback may be somewhat injury-prone, but he never ceases to amaze Houston fans.

12. Jim Leonhard, S

4 of 15

While he only has one interception in each of his last three years, tackling machine Jim Leonhard is a leader and fearless athlete always willing to make the big hit.

Always near the top of his team in tackles, this New York Jets safety was a steal at $2.08 million in 2011.

As the captain of his defense, the former Raven often motivates a dedicated squad.

11. Matt Forte, RB

5 of 15

Earning $555,000 doesn't routinely equate to 4,233 rushing yards in four seasons.

The Chicago Bears found a steal in the fortuitous Matt Forte.

10. Sean Weatherspoon, LB

6 of 15

The former first-round pick out of Missouri seems like quite the budding star for a deprived Atlanta Falcons defense.

With a five-year, $17.5 million contract and 115 combined tackles this year (four sacks), this hard-hitting linebacker seems set for a stellar pro-bowl career.

9. Hakeem Nicks, WR

7 of 15

After recording 1,052 yards and 11 touchdowns receiving last season, the third-year glove-man out of North Carolina grabbed 1,192 yards and seven touchdowns this year en route to a Giants playoff spot.

His modest five-year, $12.54 million gives team management plenty of reasons to smile... as do his engulfing hands.

8. Trent Cole, DE

8 of 15

With sack finishes of 12.5, 10 and 11 the past three seasons, relentless Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Trent Cole has certainly cemented his name in the upper echelon of the league's defenders.

His $2.90 million salary in 2011 and his threatening pupils makes him a dream catch for any team willing to sit back and watch him work.

7. Ray Rice, RB

9 of 15

The 5'8" Ray Rice may seem like a pushover because of his $555,000 salary in 2011, but his hard-nosed style and nonstop motor has led to 1,364 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

As the featured back in the ground-and-pound edition of the Ravens offense, Rice continues to impress Baltimore brass.

6. Mike Wallace, WR

10 of 15

Arguably the fastest receiver in the league, the agile Mike Wallace finished with 1,257 yards and 10 touchdowns last season before producing 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns this year.

Considering he only earned $525,000 in 2011, the former third-round pick out of Ole Miss is quite the bargain for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

5. Rob Gronkowski, TE

11 of 15

With 1,327 yards receiving, 17 touchdowns and the ability to elude numerous defenders with his massive stature, this second-year phenomenon seems like the real deal.

A 2010 second-round pick, Rob Gronkowski can be had at a remarkable four-year, $4.44 million contract, seemingly without any complaints.

4. LeSean McCoy, RB

12 of 15

With 1,309 yards and 17 touchdowns rushing, this scoring machine was essentially the centerpiece to a disappointing Eagles squad.

As Philadelphia fans look back on this season, LeSean McCoy's jaw-dropping athleticism reigns supreme.

His four-year, $3.47 million contract is sure to exponentially-multiply by the start of next season.

3. Victor Cruz, WR

13 of 15

This feisty receiver's three-year, $1.215 million contract is far from reminiscent of his potential on the field.

Undrafted out of UMass, Victor Cruz became a preaseason sensation in 2010, and began receiving some significant minutes this season.

With 1,536 yards and nine touchdowns, the slot threat may be statistically the best receiver in New York Giants history.

2. Wes Welker, WR

14 of 15

With a base salary of $2.15 in 2011, it's safe to say Patriots receiver Wes Welker is significantly outplaying his contract.

122 receptions for 1,569 yards and nine touchdowns is sure to garner plenty of attention.

New England fans are rarely disappointed with Tom Brady's favorite scrappy target.

1. Jimmy Graham, TE

15 of 15

While a 6'6" target receiving throws from Drew Brees is bound to have a potent season, Jimmy Graham's 2011 has seemingly been a bit more breathtaking than most expected.

With a subtle four-year, $2.455 million contract, Graham's 99 receptions, 1,310 yards and 11 touchdowns receiving seem like quite the gift for the New Orleans Saints.
