Don't Let Logan Paul Win MITB, Ciampa and Gargano Need Each Other, More WWE Raw Takes
The June 19 edition of WWE Raw continued the big build toward Money in the Bank on July 1.
Logan Paul made his return to a WWE ring and declared himself for the men's Money in the Bank ladder match at the O2 Arena in London.
Bronson Reed made his own case for a spot in the match by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura following interference from Ricochet.
Tommaso Ciampa returned to the ring and defeated his former ally, The Miz. He has set the stage to reunite with Johnny Gargano.
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville could not beat Raw newcomers Katana Chance and Kayden Carter but did make an impression. In particular, The Hot Mess' TikTok videos pestering others was one of the best moments of the night.
It was a big night from names who have not been discussed much on Raw in recent weeks. Everyone was trying to get a chance to compete at Money in the Bank.
Logan Paul is Wrong Choice to Win Men's MITB Match
1 of 4In a year of young stars looking to make a name for themselves, the men's Money in the Bank match took until this week to add its biggest star, Logan Paul.
However, while The Social Media Megastar may add prestige to the contest, WWE must avoid the immediate temptation to crown him in London.
Paul has the potential to be a WWE world champion, but he has already shown he does not need the Money in the Bank briefcase to get that shot.
The pay-per-view is a chance to make a big name such as LA Knight or Damian Priest or help a young star take the next step, such as Butch or Santos Escobar. Even Ricochet or Shinsuke Nakamura could use it as a launching pad.
Paul would use the gimmick well but not benefit nearly as much. WWE chose against a fan favorite last year by giving Austin Theory the win.
It would be a mistake to let the fans down again.
Tommaso Ciampa Ready To Reunite with Johnny Gargano
2 of 4Much like most NXT call-ups in recent years, Tommaso Ciampa has struggled on the main roster. He stayed relevant working with The Miz for a time, but it was not a sustainable partnership.
A hip injury sidelined The Blackheart throughout 2023 until this week's Raw, and he made the most of his moment by clearly establishing his status as The A-Lister's better.
While Ciampa has a chance to rise on his own, he would be best served by joining the tag team division with best friend and long-time tag team partner Johnny Gargano.
Both are struggling to find a place in Raw, but it was their work together in NXT that made them so beloved.
Together, they can challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a match no one will forget, putting them both back on track.
Bronson Reed Must Be Final Addition to Men's MITB Match
3 of 4Bronson Reed has done some heavy-lifting so far in building animosity between Money in the Bank competitors Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura.
The Australian has benefited from the chaos to keep building momentum, but he would benefit even more from getting a spot in the match on July 1.
Multi-man ladder matches often benefit from certain role players in the mix. The bout needs a high-flier such as Ricochet for big spots. It needs creative weapon-users like Butch. It needs someone who can pull off flashy moves on or off ladders as Nakamura can.
It also needs a monster, someone to be overcome. Big Show, Kane and Braun Strowman have played the role in the past. Reed can add that element to the match in London and become an interesting dark-horse candidate to win.
Just like his show-stealing role in the 2023 men's Elimination Chamber match, Reed has all the tools to make his name with power and force.
Chelsea Green Is Triple H's Most Valuable Re-Signing
4 of 4Sometimes, the flashiest moves are not always the most important. Triple H has brought in a host of new talent in the past year since he took over WWE Creative, and many were talked about much more than Chelsea Green.
However, what WWE needed most were extra role players, and Green has proved to be a very capable role player since her blink-and-you-miss-it women's Royal Rumble match return.
Her gimmick has allowed her to make the most of her minutes each week while increasing her air time. She has had solid matches with limited time while creating a rare reliable women's tandem with Sonya Deville.
The Hot Mess has managed to do what Karrion Kross, Hit Row, even Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae have struggled to accomplish: She has become a consistent part of the roster every week.
The women's division needs even more role players than it already has, which is why Green has been such an important signing.
