NFL Draft Rumors: Bryce Young to Visit Panthers Tuesday amid C.J. Stroud Competition
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is expected to visit the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Panthers hold the top pick in the 2023 NFL draft scheduled for April 27-29.
While the Panthers could certainly pull a quarterback rabbit out of their proverbial hat, the reporting to this point has been that the team is deciding between Young and Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud with the top overall pick.

But the Panthers will be hosting all four of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2023, which includes Young, Stroud, Florida's Anthony Richardson and Kentucky's Will Levis.
The only knock against Young at this point is his size (5'10", 204 lbs). The two-year starter won the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore, throwing for 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns before following that up with a more modest but nonetheless impressive 3,328 yards, 32 touchdowns and just five interceptions as a junior.
Per NFL.com's Lance Zierlein, he compares favorably to future NFL Hall of Famer Drew Brees, noting that Young's "talent and face-of-the-franchise potential could force teams to focus more on his game film and less on his size."
"We all know he's small, but you grade the talent, and if you like him, you make sure he's protected and you teach him to get the ball out on time," an AFC personnel executive added. "He carries himself like a winner."
Stroud has better size (6'3", 214 lbs) and was a two-time Heisman finalist, with Zierlein giving him the professional comp of Jared Goff and praising him for his elite accuracy while also questioning if he could replicate his success outside of the talent-laden Ohio State offense and its aggressive scheme.
Such are the questions the Panthers have to answer as the draft approaches. Given the talent atop the draft at the quarterback position this year, however, it's a pretty good problem to have.
