Ja Morant Believes Grizzlies Are Most Hated Team in NBA: 'You See It on Social Media'
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant thinks his team gets unnecessary hate in the media and online:
The Grizzlies have gotten a lot of negative attention, seemingly starting feuds with everyone in the NBA.
Dillon Brooks received a one-game suspension after his fight with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell last Thursday. Many referred to Brooks' action that sparked the incident as a cheap shot.
Morant got into an altercation with Indiana Pacers players Andrew Nembhard and Chris Duarte on Jan. 30, while multiple players got involved in a scuffle with Fox analyst Shannon Sharpe during a Jan. 20 game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Memphis has also had a war of words with the Golden State Warriors after the teams met in the play-in tournament in 2021 and the postseason last year.
The Grizzlies are one of the NBA's best teams, entering Tuesday second in the Western Conference with a 32-21 record, although Morant believes others have been reveling in the squad's recent struggles. Memphis has lost three straight and eight of the last nine, including six losses in a row on the road.
Morant and the Grizzlies might turn this disrespect into an "us against the world" mentality as they seek a deep playoff run.
