Report: Joe Burrow's QB Coach Dan Pitcher Receives 'Lucrative Contract' from Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals aren't going to lose their quarterbacks coach this winter.
According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Dan Pitcher "received a lucrative contract extension within the past week after several teams wanted to speak with him about offensive coordinator openings."
The Baltimore Ravens reportedly reached out to Pitcher about their offensive coordinator gig, while he interviewed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday. He isn't alone—offensive coordinator Brian Callahan has now interviewed with the Indianapolis Colts twice for their head-coaching vacancy.

There's no doubt that Burrow will appreciate the continuity in the coaching staff with Pitcher returning. He spoke about his appreciation for the collaborative nature of that group during the season, name-dropping Pitcher.
"I think that's pretty unique to this place," he said. "I think that's what makes everyone love being here. There's no egos from me to our coaching staff to [head coach Zac Taylor], to [offensive coordinator Brian Callahan], to Pitch, to our receivers. It's a collaborative effort that everyone puts in so everyone can take ownership."
Pitcher, 36, has served as the Bengals' quarterbacks coach since 2020 and has been on the coaching staff since 2016. He previously worked as a scouting assistant (2012-13) and pro scout (2014-15) for the Indianapolis Colts.
Burrow, the top overall pick in the 2020 draft, has continued to evolve and improve while working with Pitcher. The 26-year-old threw for 4,475 yards, a career-high 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 68.3 percent of his passes in his third season, and once again has the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
Awaiting them are Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, eager for revenge after last year's loss in the AFC title game. Regardless of that result, Burrow and Pitcher will continue working closely together in the future.
"That's why we mesh so well in the meeting room and on the sideline. We have a great working relationship," Burrow told reporters regarding Pitcher this season. "I say this all the time but I couldn't ask for a better group of coaches for my skill set and what I do."
