NFL Playoff Schedule 2023: AFC, NFC Postseason Dates, TV Schedule for Each Round
With a home win over the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night, the Jacksonville Jaguars became the AFC South champions. They'll now be heading to the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season, and as the No. 4 seed, they'll host a wild-card round contest in Jacksonville next weekend.
That result also eliminated the Titans from postseason contention. Tennessee ended its season with seven straight losses, as it missed the playoffs for only the second time in the past six years.
The 2022 NFL regular season will conclude Sunday, and there's still one postseason berth up for grabs in each conference. There are also seeding battles taking place that will determine the brackets for the upcoming playoffs.
As the postseason nears, here's a look at the complete playoff schedule for this season, followed by the current outlook for both the AFC and NFC.

AFC Playoff Picture
2 of 3
Bye: No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs (14-3, clinched AFC West and No. 1 seed)
No. 2 Buffalo Bills (12-3, clinched AFC East) vs. No. 7 New England Patriots (8-8)
No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals (11-4, clinched AFC North) vs. No. 6 Baltimore Ravens (10-6, clinched playoff berth)
No. 4 Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8, clinched AFC South) vs. No. 5 Los Angeles Chargers (10-6, clinched playoff berth)
In the hunt: Miami Dolphins (8-8), Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8)
The Chiefs notched a road win over the Raiders on Saturday, clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC. However, that doesn't guarantee that Kansas City will have home games all the way up to the Super Bowl (if it makes it that far).
Because Buffalo will have played one fewer game, there's a chance the AFC Championship Game could be played at a neutral site. That will happen if the Bills beat the Patriots on Sunday, then end up meeting the Chiefs in the conference title game on Jan. 29.
Buffalo could also keep New England out of the playoffs with a win on Sunday. The Pats would clinch the No. 7 seed if they can beat the Bills, but that won't be an easy task.
If New England loses, then Miami would capture the final wild-card berth with a home win over the Jets. If the Patriots and Dolphins both lose, then the Steelers would be the No. 7 seed if they notch a home victory over the Browns.
What would happen if New England, Miami and Pittsburgh all lose? Then the Patriots would be the No. 7 seed and would have an immediate rematch with the Bills in the Wild-Card Round.
Even though the Ravens are a wild-card team (and will be either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed), they could still host a game in the Wild-Card Round. If they beat the Bengals and the Chargers defeat the Broncos on Sunday, then a coin flip will be used to determine the host of the playoff matchup between Cincinnati and Baltimore (due to the Bengals having played one fewer game).
NFC Playoff Picture
3 of 3
Bye: No. 1 Philadelphia Eagles (13-3, clinched playoff berth)
No. 2 San Francisco 49ers (12-4, clinched NFC West) vs. No. 7 Seattle Seahawks (8-8)
No. 3 Minnesota Vikings (12-4, clinched NFC North) vs. No. 6 New York Giants (9-6-1, clinched playoff berth)
No. 4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8, clinched NFC South) vs. No. 5 Dallas Cowboys (12-4, clinched playoff berth)
In the hunt: Detroit Lions (8-8), Green Bay Packers (8-8)
The Eagles and Cowboys could each be either the No. 1, No. 2 or No. 5 seed in the NFC, depending on what happens Sunday. They both have a chance to be the NFC East champion and also the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Philadelphia is in control, though, as it can clinch the division title and the top seed with a home win over the Giants on Sunday. If the Eagles lose, then that opens the door for the 49ers and the Cowboys to both capitalize.
San Francisco would be the No. 1 seed with a Philadelphia loss and a home win over the Arizona Cardinals. If the 49ers lose, they'll be either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed (depending on what happens in Sunday's Vikings-Bears matchup).
Dallas will win the NFC East with a Philadelphia loss and a road win over Washington. The Cowboys could also move up to the No. 1 seed in that scenario if the 49ers also lose to the Cardinals.
The No. 7 seed will go to either the Seahawks, Lions or Packers. The team in control of that battle is Green Bay, which can clinch that final wild-card berth with a home win over Detroit on Sunday night.
Seattle needs to beat the Rams, then have the Lions top the Packers. Detroit can only get in if the Seahawks lose and then it beats Green Bay.
