Week 13 DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Picks, Lineup Tips for Sunday

Kristopher KnoxDec 4, 2022

Week 13 is a pivotal point in the fantasy football season, as managers in season-long leagues are in the stretch run for the postseason. Of course, for daily fantasy sports (DFS) managers, it's just another week.

Injured players—like Cooper Kupp, Joe Mixon and David Njoku this week—can be ignored. Managers won't be saddled with underperforming players in bad situations. As has been the case all year, it's all about finding the right matchups and the best DFS values.

We're here to help with lineup tips and picks for DraftKings and FanDuel in Week 13. As a reminder, the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots played on Thursday, while the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers are on bye.

Look for Value with Trevor Lawrence

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is starting to come into his own this season. Under the guidance of head coach Doug Pederson, the Clemson product has taken a massive step after struggling as a rookie in 2021.

Last week against the Baltimore Ravens, Lawrence took over the game as a franchise quarterback is expected to. He led Jacksonville to a comeback win while throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns.

The Detroit Lions know that stopping Lawrence on Sunday will be a tall order.

"I feel like, man, if you’re not careful, he’ll pick you apart," Lions coach Dan Campbell said, per Benjamin Raven of MLive.

However, Detroit is unlikely to do much to contain Lawrence in fantasy. No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, according to FantasyPros.

Expect Lawrence to have another great outing and to provide great QB value. With a price of $5,900 at DraftKings and $7,500 at FanDuel, Lawrence is far cheaper than top quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes ($8,300 at DraftKings) and Jalen Hurts ($8,000 at DraftKings).

Saving a bit at quarterback can allow managers to splurge a little more on skill-position players.

Target Tee Higgins over Ja'Marr Chase

Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase is expected to make his return from a hip injury this week against the Kansas City Chiefs. Chase is questionable, but all signs point to him playing.

"Chase has indicated to his head coach Zac Taylor that after a second full week of practice he is ready to make his return to game action," Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer wrote.

Managers may be eager to roster Chase against a Chiefs defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. However, with a price point of $7,900 at DraftKings and $8,900 at FanDuel, Chase isn't the best Bengals value.

Instead, it would behoove managers to grab teammate Tee Higgins ($7,200 at DraftKings, $8,300 at FanDuel) and not just for the savings.

Higgins has thrived as Cincinnati's top target during Chase's absence. He topped 100 yards in each of his last two games, and finished Week 12 with seven catches and a touchdown.

Expect Higgins to continue to be a focus as Chase gets back into the groove of gameday action. With Chase likely to draw his fair share of double coverage, expect Higgins to have another stellar DFS performance.

Consider a Detroit Lions Stack

With Lawrence likely to have his way with the Lions defense on Sunday, fans can likely expect a shootout between two up-and-coming teams. That is a great scenario for managers looking to stack a pair of Detroit standouts.

Consider pairing wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown and running back Jamaal Williams in this week's lineup.

St. Brown is a legitimate WR1 who is coming off of a spectacular game (nine catches, 122 yards, 1 TD) against Buffalo. He should have similar results against a Jags defense that has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season.

With a price point of $7,100 at DraftKings and at $8,100 FanDuel, St. Brown is also better value than receivers like Chase and Tyreek Hill ($8,800 at DraftKings, at FanDuel).

Williams' matchup isn't quite as juicy, as the Jaguars have allowed the 14th-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. However, he has a solid floor. Williams has topped 50 rushing yards in every game since Week 2, and he leads the league with 13 rushing touchdowns.

With a price point of just $6,300 at DraftKings and $7,500 at FanDuel, Williams is a true budget option who can help round out a lineup full of stars.
