Becky Lynch vs. Bayley Will Save Raw Women's Division, Blow Up Tag Teams, More Takes

Kevin BergeNov 29, 2022

Monday's WWE Raw proved to be an energetic outing, just two days removed from Survivor Series WarGames.

The November 28 show included the returns of The Street Profits and Candice LeRae as well as Becky Lynch's first appearance on the red brand in months.

The Man made her mark to start the show, calling out Damage CTRL and fighting Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai without fear following her lengthy injury absence.

Mia Yim got her shot at Rhea Ripley one-on-one before it turned into a memorable battle of The Judgment Day vs. The O.C. in full force.

Montez Ford returned to action with Angelo Dawkins in a familiar rivalry with Chad Gable and Otis, and the Profits defeated Alpha Academy once again.

Dexter Lumis finally earned himself a WWE contract with the help of Johnny Gargano, picking up a well-earned victory over The Miz that should hopefully end their rivalry.

Raw seems to be starting off hot on the road to 2023 and the Royal Rumble.

Becky Lynch Star Power on Full Display

Becky Lynch may have returned last week, but this was her first night back on Raw. She made an immediate impression playing off the crowd and running down Bayley before the two brawled.

The red brand has lacked for a true top feud when The Bloodline aren't on the show, but The Man vs. The Role Model could be the spark it needs.

They are two great wrestlers but have limited experience working one-on-one. It is rare that WWE has such a fresh matchup with veterans, especially in the women's division.

While Bianca Belair has been freed up for a new rivalry, she will need to step up to keep the same spot at the top of Raw with Lynch fully back. The Man is clearly working at a level she has not been since WrestleMania 35.

Luckily, The EST of WWE has some great options to feud with. Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross and Candice LeRae come to mind, as do Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky of Damage CTRL.

What matters most is that the women's division is heating up. Raw has a clear advantage over SmackDown in this regard, and the red brand should lean into that by highlighting its incredible roster of talent.

Mia Yim Primed to be Key Part of Raw Women's Roster

Mia Yim may not have been the most exciting return on paper for WWE, but she proved her worth to Raw on Monday. Her match with Rhea Ripley and her impact in The O.C. vs. The Judgment Day match was clear.

This all showed she is a reliable star who can work with top acts. While Ripley has proved herself as a reliable performer, she has not always worked this well with everyone.

The two showed why this pairing was set up as Yim's return rivalry, and it will demonstrate why Yim is an important part of the women's division for the future.

Even during her time in NXT, the 33-year-old did not have this same confidence and swagger. But she could easily be a top-five name for either Raw or SmackDown.

For now, she can keep working with Ripley and proving her value in quality matches.

Time to Blow up Men's Tag Team Division

3 of 4

The tag team divisions in WWE are struggling, but none is more clearly in need of drastic change than the men's tag team division.

Montez Ford had his first match in two months, yet he and Angelo Dawkins still cannot escape Alpha Academy.

The Usos are the best tag team in WWE, possibly in all of wrestling, but no one has stepped up to them. The Brawling Brutes are popular but have lost multiple times, and nobody else seems interested in the titles.

The division has run out of fresh matchups, and the division needs new names.

NXT has some interesting tandems that could help, including the likes of The Creed Brothers, Pretty Deadly and Indus Sher.

It's time to hit the full reset button, though. A tournament like the World Cup on SmackDown could help, but stories that don't feature the same five teams are needed most.

The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis Is Well Past Expiry Date

Dexter Lumis is officially a member of the Raw roster now, and his first act should be to stop fighting The Miz.

It is possible WWE still has more planned for The Tortured Artist and The A-Lister, but no good will come of it. Keep them apart for the foreseeable future.

Lumis and Johnny Gargano could be a fun tag team, protecting The Tortured Artist from becoming overexposed.

Miz can continue to be the hype man for the newcomer, and hopefully his next rival will have more chemistry with him.

WWE should be commended for telling a unique story with Lumis and Miz, but the execution could never live up to the idea.
