Strikeforce: KO, Submission and Fight of the Night Predictions
On Saturday, January 7, 2012, Strikeforce will kickoff the new year and return to action for Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine.
Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine will take place at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with a west coast delayed showing.
In the main event of the evening, Luke Rockhold will look to successfully defend his middleweight title when he takes on former UFC light heavyweight, Keith Jardine.
Also featured on the main card is Robbie Lawler, who will look to get his career back on track when he squares off with Adlan Amagov.
While the entire event promises to be filled with entertainment and excitement, there are specific fights that will steal the limelight.
So, the following slides display predictions for KO, Submission, and Fight of the Night.
Knockout of the Night: Muhammed Lawal
1 of 3In one of the most exciting bouts of the evening, Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal will take on the undefeated Lorenz Larkin.
In a fight that certainly won't arrive to the judge's scorecards, it's likely Lawal will use his overpowering strikes to wear down Larkin, giving him the first loss of his MMA career.
What makes Lawal more dangerous than most martial artists is his ability to knock his opponent out with either hand.
If and when Lawal connects on an enormous blow, Larkin can expect to be finished from there as it's rare an opponent ever escapes the ground strikes of "King Mo."
Submission of the Night: Luke Rockhold
2 of 3Over the course of his career, Luke Rockhold has had a fairly easy time finishing his opponents off via submission.
In fact, not only has Rockhold finished the majority of his opponents, but he's done it in the very first round of action.
However, when he takes on Keith Jardine on January 7, Rockhold will be attempting to submit a man who's never been submitted before.
With that being said, Jardine isn't anywhere near the fighter he once was during his time in the UFC.
Jardine is much less conditioned and could very well be the next victim of Rockhold.
Fight of the Night: Robbie Lawler vs. Adlan Amagov
3 of 3Many fans feel that Robbie Lawler is on the way out of his MMA career despite being just 29 years old.
Lawler has been lackluster as of late but remains one of the most exciting fighters in the sport today.
In his upcoming bout, Lawler will be taking on an opponent with similar excitement in Adlan Amagov, who is one of the hardest hitters Lawler has ever seen.
In a middleweight showdown, it's very unlikely that Lawler and Amagov will find themselves awaiting a judge's decision.
Regardless of the outcome, Lawler and Amagov will put on a show for the ages.
