Projecting the Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022

Kevin BergeNov 24, 2022

Survivor Series 2022 comes off as a complete reset of this once-legendary show for WWE. The company has struggled to keep this event at the level of WrestleMania, Royal Rumble or SummerSlam, but the addition of WarGames could make a difference.

Saturday's event will feature two huge matches. The Bloodline will face the wrath of The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens; while Damage CTRL and their allies will look to stay dominant against Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and a mystery name.

The show will be made to get people talking while setting the stage for 2023 and even the Road to WrestleMania. WWE will be looking to make a splash.

That begins with some major moments at Survivor Series, including some surprise turns and potential big returns. We could see SethRollins and Becky Lynch solidify their babyface turns while Sami Zayn or Jey Uso finally turn against The Bloodline.

The following are the most likely heel and face turns to come at Survivor Series WarGames that can help make the show special.

Face: Seth Rollins

1 of 4

Seth Rollins continues to slowly turn face in WWE, but until he fully embraces the role, he remains a tweener. His match with Austin Theory and Bobby Lashley should change that.

After The All Mighty's recent heel turn, Rollins is the fan favorite in every way for this Triple Threat. There is likely a reason WWE did not even book Mustafa Ali for this contest, focusing on The Messiah's continue evolution as a fighting United States champion.

Rollins should not change much over time. His eccentric personality and wild mind games make him more fun to watch. It will keep him fresh as a face for years to come.

The Visionary will need to be careful given how quickly many faces have fallen out of favor with fans over the years, including his own run as the top guy a few years ago. However, the 36-year-old has proved himself all the more since.

Add in the likely return of his wife, Becky Lynch, and the stage is set for Rollins' best run yet in WWE.

Heel: Dolph Ziggler

2 of 4

Dolph Ziggler's role in modern WWE is undefined. He is valuable enough to appear on television now and again, but he hasn't been able to tell a complete story.

However, The Showoff has been playing an important role in pushing Austin Theory. The two have had multiple matches in which Ziggler has taken the fall but also seemed to get his point across to A-Town.

If Theory is evolving and all that has been done to date is going to matter, Ziggler could be the missing piece to his success.

It is hard to imagine Theory dethroning Seth Rollins on his own. He tried before and failed. However, if The Showoff helped him, it would be a big moment for both men.

This is the last likely move for Survivor Series, but Ziggler has shocked people before at this event. It would make sense of all that has happened recently between the two men.

Face: Becky Lynch

3 of 4

The most likely name to join the women's WarGames match who has not been announced yet is Becky Lynch.

And Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (h/t Shaun Ranft of Wrestling Inc) reported this was the "planned and discussed" option.

For The Man to join the team, though, she would need to fully embrace a babyface role for the first time since she relinquished the Raw Women's Championship in May 2020 to Asuka.

She did tease that she would be The Man when she returned from injury, but a turn was not fully established. She will need to prove to her partners, especially Bianca Belair, that she can be trusted inside WarGames.

While Lynch was a fun heel, fans like her too much to be the bad guy. As The Man, she is the top star in the women's division. If she can build on the momentum that got her to this spot three years back, she could be the biggest star in all of WWE.

This is the best path for all involved. Lynch is ready to be celebrated again, and it's time the rest of the women's division was reminded of the high bar of stardom in WWE.

Face: Sami Zayn or Jey Uso

4 of 4

The Bloodline are the most dominant stable in WWE today, but there are holes that are forming. In particular, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso cannot find a way to get along.

Most of the heel group has sided with The Honorary Uce. But when push comes to shove, family is what is most important to this group, which is why it is more likely Jey will remain when this conflict comes to a head.

It could happen at Survivor Series, especially if The Bloodline lose inside WarGames. Roman Reigns has accepted only greatness from the group, but Jey and Zayn are threatening that.

Whoever The Head of the Table deems unnecessary will instantly become one of the top babyfaces in WWE. Zayn is ready for that role given the growing crowd support for him, and Jey has showed before that he can fit that spot.

While this story may not be ready to come to a head, this is the clear direction for The Bloodline ahead of WrestleMania 39.
