UFC 141 Results: 3 Things Alistair Overeem Needs To Improve On

After 12 long years of waiting, Alistair Overeem has officially arrived to the UFC. 

Last night at UFC 141 Overeem defeated Brock Lesnar by first-round TKO. 

In Overeem's short night, he continued to show his great striking and proved he could stuff a great wrestler's takedowns. 

Because it was such a short fight, though, there may still need to be a few things that Overeem needs to improve on. 

Here's a look at what those things are.

Aggressiveness

Overeem's win last night was his 12th straight without a loss. 

Overeem has won 10 of those last 12 by submission or knockout.

So it's not like he doesn't know how to finish guys. 

But Overeem may have to be even more aggressive if against a guy like Junior dos Santos. 

Overeem could have perhaps ended last night's fight even quicker than he did. But he picked his spots after Lesnar attacked first.

Against a guy like dos Santos, Overeem will have to be the one to the gun first. 

Gas Tank

Since Overeem won the Strikeforce heavyweight championship, 11 of his fights have ended in the first or second round. 

The one time his fight went the full distance, there was little action thanks to Fabricio Werdum purposely laying on his back for much of the fight. 

Overeem seemed gassed after the fight, but it was later reported that he was fighting with broken ribs. 

Despite this, people still wondered just how good his gas tank is.

Over the course of his career he has only had three fights go to decision, and with the added muscle he has at heavyweight, you have to wonder if it will wear down on him. 

Ability To Handle Pressure

Overeem proved that he could stuff the one takedown that Brock Lesnar attempted. 

But how would he react if there was a striker right in his face? Or better yet, could Overeem come back if he had a rough couple of rounds?

In the past Overeem has faced dominant and aggressive strikers, and he lost to most of them. 

Junior dos Santos is a guy who is not going to back off of him.

When Overeem faces dos Santos he will have to be prepared to weather the storm.
