WWE Clash at the Castle produced some fun moments and great pro wrestling action, but now it's time to look to the future with Extreme Rules coming up on October 8.

This is one of WWE's so-called B-level pay-per-views, but we have seen plenty of memorable moments at this event due to some of the hardcore stipulations management uses for matches.

This year will be the first Extreme Rules without Vince McMahon running the show, so Triple H and Co. might want to make every event feel as important as the last.

With so much time left before the show, anything can happen, but it's always fun to make early predictions to see if we can get anything right, so let's take a look at some potential inclusions for this year's Extreme Rules.

Roman Reigns vs. Karrion Kross vs. Drew McIntyre

1 of 6

Ever since Karrion Kross made his return to WWE on August 5, he has had his sights set on Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns.

The former NXT champion clearly wants to win the biggest prize in the company by defeating The Tribal Chief, but he also seems to hold a grudge against The Scottish Warrior.

This match would not only allow WWE to pay off a story it started building with the return of Kross and Scarlett, but it would also allow it to either protect Reigns in a loss by having Kross or McIntyre beat the other for the title, or The Tribal Chief could retain by capitalizing on those two fighting each other instead of him.

This bout would have three hard-hitting powerhouses beating the life out of each other. What's not to love?

Johnny Gargano vs. Austin Theory

2 of 6

Johnny Gargano has only been back in WWE for a few weeks, but it's already crystal clear who his first rival is going to be.

Austin Theory was his pseudo-son in NXT when they were part of The Way, but those days are gone now.

Theory has grown into a cocky jerk while Gargano has moved past his need to parent others in the locker room. Now, they seem destined for a showdown.

They might have a match before the PPV, but it feels like the best place for them to have the blowoff to this feud would be at Extreme Rules. Give them 15 minutes and they will put on an athletic showcase that will rival anything else on the night.

The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis

3 of 6

Dexter Lumis has been lurking around WWE for weeks, but he has recently made his intentions a little more obvious: He is targeting The Miz.

Not only did he abduct The A-Lister a few weeks ago, but he also cost him the United States title on Monday in a steel cage match against Bobby Lashley.

We don't know why the mustachioed Superstar has his sights set on the former WWE champion, but even Ciampa isn't going to be enough to stop him.

WWE can get a lot of mileage out of this feud over the next few weeks before they meet at the PPV in some kind of gimmick match that will further torture The Miz's psyche.

Bayley vs. Bianca Belair

4 of 6

This is one of the few matches on this list that seems like a lock. Ever since Bayley returned at SummerSlam, she has been chasing Bianca Belair.

This is a feud that had to be put on hold when the former women's champion went down with an injury last year, but now that she is back, she is making up for lost time.

Bayley may have spent some time trying to help Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai win the women's tag titles, but now it's her turn to chase some gold.

Whether they have any kind of hardcore match or not won't be much of a factor because these two women are going to have a great contest no matter what.

The Usos vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

5 of 6

This might be more of a hope than a prediction, but it feels like WWE is building toward Sami Zayn turning on The Bloodline and joining Kevin Owens to dethrone The Usos as the tag team champions.

Jey Uso stares a hole through Zayn every time he sees him and at some point, The Great Liberator is not going to take it much longer.

KO has transitioned into more of a babyface role, so he is the perfect person to help Zayn realize that he can do so much more than be a lackey for The Tribal Chief.

WWE has plenty of time to build to this match without making it feel rushed, but it would have to start soon.

A Match Involving Rey Mysterio, Edge and Judgment Day

6 of 6

What's clear is the feud with Rey Mysterio, Edge and Judgment Day is far from over now that Dominik Mysterio has joined the group, but what form that feud will take at the PPV is more of a mystery.

We could see Rey fight his own son, but it feels too soon for that. WWE might even want to save that encounter for something like WrestleMania 39.

A tag team match with Edge and Rey on one side of the ring seems unlikely since we just saw that at Clash at the Castle, but if WWE changed the participants from Finn Balor and Damian Priest to one of them and Dom, it might be possible.

We could also see Beth Phoenix involved somehow to combat Rhea Ripley. There are a lot of potential pairings and combinations here, so WWE has several options to consider.

While the six matches listed here all seem plausible, WWE has other programs it could use at Extreme Rules, too. What do you think we will see at the next PPV?
