Packers' Win-Loss Predictions for 2022 NFL Season

The Green Bay Packers enter the 2022 season with Super Bowl aspirations after bringing back most of the core that won 13 games in 2021.

The team dealt with some uncertainty regarding whether Aaron Rodgers would come back to play for them. They also traded away Davante Adams in a move that is going to create a much different offense in 2022.

But Rodgers returns, and the team's stable of defensive players got reinforcements with Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt joining as first-round picks.

The result is one of the most intriguing teams in the league with the upside to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.

Let's take a look at the schedule, analyze the bigger questions facing the franchise and make a prediction as to how the team will finish the regular season.

Analysis and Expectations

A lot has been made of the loss of Davante Adams. The Packers' options at receiver have been the topic of scrutiny this offseason as the team didn't add any big-name veterans to fill the massive void left behind.

But that doesn't take into account how suited the Packers are to adapt.

With Jaire Alexander coming back from injury, the Green Bay defense has all the tools necessary to be one of the league's elite units. They also have one of the best running back duos in the league in AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones.

That's not even factoring in that Aaron Rodgers—the reigning MVP—is still under center. So while it's going to be difficult to replace a singular talent like Adams, there's no reason to panic.

Expectations are still sky-high for the club. The over/under win total at DraftKings Sportsbook is 11, and they are the odds-on favorite to win the NFC North at -190.

LaFleur's team came in sixth in Bleacher Report's post-draft power rankings, factoring in most of the major moves this offseason.

If there's any reason to believe the Packers will take a step back in 2022, it's the fact that it's incredibly difficult to just keep winning 13 games year after year. This is a league of variance after all.

Injuries, luck and turnovers are volatile factors in football. It all makes the fact that the Packers have won 13 games in three straight seasons all the more incredible.

Getting back to that number is going to be difficult. The schedule is manageable. Warren Sharp, who accounts for opponent over/under's to calculate strength of schedule, ranks the Packers' slate at No. 15 in the league.

Still, the Packers are going to have things to work out, and that takes time. Rodgers is likely going to be relying on rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs in some capacity. The offense isn't going to be as consistent as Packers fans are accustomed to.

This is still a playoff team. This is still a Super Bowl contender. It's just not the same team that is going to win week in and week out.

Instead, it's a team that's going to have more bumps in the road than usual and will need the defense to be the best it has been under LaFleur.
