UFC 141 Results: Dong Hyun Kim Ready for Bigger Challenges Following Pierson Win
Dong Hyun Kim dominated Sean Pierson in the UFC 141 welterweight preliminary fight on Friday night with a unanimous decision in which each of the three judges scored in the South Korean's favor, 30-27.
After the fight, it was clear that Hyun Kim is ready for bigger challenges and that his all-around skills will make him a force to be reckoned with in UFC for years to come.
His movement and footwork was tremendous in his bout against Pierson and it was a major reason he dominated the fight with ease.
Kim took the fight over at the end of the second when a jumping kick left Pierson having trouble standing up as he crashed to the floor, and was hoping the bell would sound soon.
Knowing that the round was nearing its end, Kim went after Pierson to end the fight but the bell sounded and the Canadian lasted another round.
A last effort by Pierson in the third round is unsuccessful as Kim's kicks were again causing problems for him. Kim's stamina and ability to take punishment yet still be aggressive was quite impressive.
This victory certainly proved that Dong Hyun Kim is ready for tougher competition because his ability to be very effective with his kicks and punches is a solid combination that will be difficult for other fighters to defend.
His career in UFC will take off and this fight showed the rest of the competition that Kim means business and will be a tough opponent for a while.
