Peter King NFL Mock Draft 2022: Malik Willis Falls to Day 2; Pickett, Corral Go R1
There continues to be disagreement over the top quarterbacks in the 2022 NFL draft class ahead of Thursday's first round, with Peter King of NBC Sports making some unique predictions in his mock draft.
King projected Kenny Pickett as the first quarterback off the board with the 20th overall pick, while Matt Corral is the only other first-round pick at the position (32nd overall). It would mean Malik Willis—the top pick for many scouts—wouldn't be taken until at least Day 2.
Here is the top of the latest mock draft.

In his first mock draft at the start of April, King projected Pickett to go No. 6 overall to the Carolina Panthers and Willis to land with the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8.
Bleacher Report's Scouting Department has had even higher projections for Willis, who went No. 2 to the Detroit Lions in its latest mock.
King's latest mock draft has no quarterbacks going in the top 10, with Pickett ending the streak at No. 20 when taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pickett spent five years with the Pittsburgh Panthers, breaking out last season with 4,319 passing yards and 42 touchdowns to only seven interceptions.
With the Steelers needing someone to replace Ben Roethlisberger, drafting the local star makes a lot of sense.
The second quarterback off the board represents arguably an even bigger surprise, with the Atlanta Falcons projected to trade back into the first round to take Corral.
"I hear the Falcons like Corral," King said.
While Corral could also drop to the Falcons' second-round pick at 43rd overall, there is value in trading into the first round for a quarterback. It adds an extra year of team control through the fifth-year option, a strategy that is helping the Baltimore Ravens with Lamar Jackson (32nd overall pick in 2018).
King's mock features plenty of other interesting picks, including at No. 1 overall, with Travon Walker going over Aidan Hutchinson. The Jacksonville Jaguars have kept things close to the vest and have plenty of options when they are officially on the clock Thursday.
