Top Royal Rumble 2022 Matches to Watch
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley
Fans have long discussed the possibility of Lesnar and Lashley locking horns, and it will finally come to fruition at the Royal Rumble.
Lesnar and Lashley are two of the most dominant individuals WWE has ever seen, and it can be argued that Lashley is one of the few people in the company who can match what The Beast Incarnate brings to the table physically.
Fans got a taste of it at Day 1 when both Lesnar and Lashley competed in a Fatal 5-Way match for the WWE title. Lesnar won, but Lashley took the fight to him, including spearing him through the barricade.
Now, the stage is set for a clash of the titans at Royal Rumble, and it could go down as one of the most memorable and entertaining undercard matches in the history of the pay-per-view.
Much of that will depend on how it is booked and how much time it is given, but there is no question Lesnar and Lashley have the tools to put on a classic.
Given their size, strength and background in both amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts, Lesnar and Lashley should mesh well and give fans something memorable.
Women's Royal Rumble Match
Both Royal Rumble matches are shaping up to be good ones this year, but there is arguably a bit more mystery surrounding the women's Royal Rumble match.
Of the participants who have been announced, Bianca Belair seems like a strong favorite, especially after Becky Lynch cost her a Raw Women's Championship match a few weeks ago by attacking her in a Triple Threat match for the No. 1 contendership.
Belair would make history by becoming the first back-to-back winner of the women's Royal Rumble, and while that would be worth watching in its own right, there are other factors at work as well.
Most notably, rumors are running rampant that Ronda Rousey could make her WWE return and compete in the match.
If that happens, Rousey would almost certainly win the match and set the stage for a singles bout against Lynch at WrestleMania.
Aside from that, several legends are returning to the fold for Saturday's contest, including The Bella Twins, Mickie James, Lita, Michelle McCool and Summer Rae, which should add some intrigue in its own right.
Regardless of whether Rousey is involved, the women's Royal Rumble match will be stacked with star power and has a chance to be one of the best ever.
Men's Royal Rumble Match
While there are no rumors of a star as big as Rousey being a surprise entrant in the men's Royal Rumble match, it has the makings of being equally as unpredictable as the women's match.
Big E is perhaps the smartest betting choice to win of those who have been announced, especially since he just dropped the WWE Championship and is in need of a big win to get back in the title scene.
AJ Styles, Kevin Owens and Damian Priest are a few others who could be in the mix, plus there could be surprises such as Drew McIntyre returning from injury or one of the losers of the world title matches entering and winning.
It is also possible a star from NXT like Bron Breakker or Gunther could enter the match and make a massive impact.
There aren't many times when the Royal Rumble field truly seems wide open, but that appears to be the case with the men's Royal Rumble match this year.
That means an out-of-left-field winner is possible, and that only stands to add even more excitement to the pay-per-view as a whole.
