NHL Trade Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers and Teams That Need to Make a Move
The NHL rumor mill is always churning, and the week after Christmas is no exception.
While the holiday freeze on moves eased the minds of the players for a bit, the management of teams in need were given time to stew over the opportunities they have been presented with.
All of the following teams are facing adversity, and it’s time for the people that call the shots to make the appropriate move here. It’s their duty for the teams and the fans.

Philadelphia Flyers—The Philadelphia Flyers have been depleted this season by injuries to everyone from their Captain Chris Pronger to the NHL’s leading scorer Claude Giroux.
While the Flyers are still right in the middle of playoff contention, management has to make a move to shake up what has become a stagnant team. They may just be feeling bad for themselves.
With all of the youth the Flyers have now because of the offseason moves made, they should work a deal that would send Pronger and maybe Braydon Schenn to Nashville in return for Shea Weber.
Calgary Flames—The Calgary Flames need to shakeup their team because they are terrible once again. Despite being adamant about not trading the star, the team has to move Jarome Iginla.
Iginla is the heart and soul of the Flames, but they are not going to win a championship any time soon. The Flames owe it to Iginla to trade him to a contender.
The Flames could get back some serious building blocks and begin the rebuilding process that is five years overdue.
Edmonton Oilers—The Edmonton Oilers started the season red hot, but a group of rookies can only go so far before the veterans take the reins and show them how it’s done.
With that said, the current veterans on the Oilers roster aren’t getting the job done and it’s time to either acquire one that will or continue building towards the future by acquiring more picks and players.
If this was my team to control, I would start moving out the veteran pieces that don’t fit the fast, up-tempo schemes that should be in place for the cast of young players. Then I’d spend the offseason trying to sign free agent veterans that would work well. You’re welcome Edmonton.
