Tannehill also reacted after the news became official on Sunday:
Jones, 32, joins a loaded Titans offense that includes Tannehill, running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver A.J. Brown. Tannehill called Jones and Brown a "really dynamic duo."
Jones has been a Falcon for his entire 10-year career after Atlanta selected him with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. It'll be a new setting for him in Tennessee, but the team is clearly welcoming him with open arms.
"Looking forward to what he can bring to the table," Tannehill said. "Obviously a lot of work in front of us. Gonna have to feel each other out and get on the same page, but looking forward to the work and looking forward to the good things to come."
Jones was arguably the NFL's best wide receiver in the 2010s, leading the league in receiving yards per game on three occasions and surpassing 1,000 yards seven times.
He played just nine games in an injury-shortened 2020 campaign but still excelled with 51 catches for 771 yards and three scores.
When healthy, Jones is one of the game's premier playmakers, which explains why Tannehill is "fired up."
"I'm fired up. I'm excited," Tannehill said.
"How could you not be excited to play with a guy from the caliber of talent that Julio is and has been for his whole career? So excited to get to know him as a person and just welcome him to the team and get him acclimated to the way we do things."
Tannehill isn't the only Titan ready to go, as Brown is also happy to see Jones come aboard.
Brown was also a top recruiter for Jones' services:
Tennessee traded a second-round selection in the 2022 NFL draft and a fourth-rounder in 2023 for Jones, who went to Nashville along with a sixth-rounder in 2023.
The Titans open the 2021 regular season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.
